This is only a guide. Optimal feeding amounts may vary according to your pet's temperament, activity level and environment. If you have any questions regarding your pet's health, please contact your veterinarian.
We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.
All of our dry diets are preserved naturally with mixed tocopherols, citric acid, and rosemary extract. Our canned diets are naturally preserved and sterilized during the cooking and canning process.
We select our ingredients based on multiple factors, including the supplier’s compliance with our quality and food safety requirements, consistent availability, and on the nutrients required to meet the dietary needs of the pet.Royal Canin is making strides towards sustainability by attempting to obtain sources of raw materials as close to each manufacturing facility as possible. In some cases, we use international suppliers, because only those suppliers can offer raw materials that comply with our quality and food safety standards.
Royal Canin chooses ingredients because they deliver high-quality nutrients that support our customized pet food formulas. Using chicken by-product meal instead of chicken meal for example will allow Royal Canin to maintain its highly customized nutrient standards while achieving a more secure and sustainable supply.
Grains can be a healthy part of any cat or dog’s diet. As always, we focus on the nutrients each ingredient provides and grains can provide many important nutrients.

We put our suppliers through a rigorous selection process that doesn’t end with our first purchase. We monitor every load delivered to our plants to verify the safety and quality of the ingredients we use to make pet food. We perform tests on finished pet foods before they are shipped to our customers. We manufacture every pet food we sell, in plants that we own; our plants are ISO 9001:2008 certified for Quality Management and ISO 22000 certified for Food Safety.

My vet asked what food I give my dogs and when I said Royal Canin he replied, “Oh, that’s the best!” Made me feel reassured that they were getting the quality of food I was hoping for. We switched from adult to the senior version of this food and both dogs love it just as much.
My dogs have always eaten Royal Canin but my current boxer decided she no longer was interested unless "goodies" were added. I switched from 7+ years to the 10+ and she's happy and eating with or without the added enticements,
As always, Chewy made it so easy to get the diet my vet recommends for my senior pup. Ingredients are very consistent so she never has any gastrointestinal issues.
I have been using Royal Canin products off and on since 2004 with my cats. My daughter’s Aussie has been staying with me for the past year. I put him on the senior formula for medium dogs. He seems to like and tolerate it well. (He’s not at all spoiled. He gets RC for 3 weeks of month and gets a “casserole “ of boiled or roasted chicken, pumpkin, rice, peas, green beans, apples or cranberries and spinach for the 4th week. ) He just turned 14. I am pleased with the Royal Canin product line.
We fed Taste of the Wild for 10 years. When our dog got older, he started being less interested in the old food. He also started having loose stools and generally seemed like he had belly aches. We switched to this brand after our vet recommended and we did a lot of research. We transitioned food very slowly, as he had been on grain free all his life. He loved it and would pick out the new food from his bowl. He now eats the Royal Canin only and gobbles it up! His stools are much firmer now and he whines less (probably because he actually eats and isn’t hungry all the time!).
My dog is 8.5 years old, and I use the Royal Canin 7+ food for medium sized dogs. This time, the 7+ food was out of stock, so I tried the 10+ food. The dog likes the food, and I appreciated having SOMETHING to order, as all the local stores didn't have anything similar to my needs. Chewy came through!
Chewy always has what I need at a fair price and expedited shipment for no extra cost! I can hardly purchase this 10+ food anywhere anymore. They have either ran out or the price is too high! But it’s always available at Chewy
My older lab really seemed to like this food, however, when I went to reorder, it was out-of-stock :(
Our 16 year old baby is finally eating again. She has become very picky in her old age and the boxer food she once loved is just too much for her. We were having to soak the large pieces in water and hope that she would eat the mush. Day one with this senior food and she inhaled it!!! So far no bloating or gas, which is amazing! (We did mix it with the previous food, but she basically sifted out the new bites)
If you have a senior dog that has trouble getting around, this is the food! About a year ago, our blind sheltie started having trouble getting up and would drag his back legs. It was so bad, we had to start carrying him around everywhere. He would whine and panic every time he tried to get up and couldn't. I randomly bought this food since its one of the few marketed for 10+ years. Ever since he started eating this in feb, he no longer has trouble moving around or getting up. It took about a month of eating this food to see the results, but we are so happy with this purchase!
