First time buyer. I learned the hard way not to open the box from the underside. Cutting the tape sliced open the bag as well. I had hoped to store the food in there - at least temporarily. The food is great and arrived quickly.
My GSD started having lava butt around 6 mnths old after living off Purina One Lg Breed puppy food. Only thing that was settling his stomach was chicken and rice. Vet recommended this brand and he’s been great ever since. An occasional upset stomach, but other than that growing and gaining weight. He’s almost 11 mnths old now. Will look at transitioning to the adult version of this food between 12-15 mnths. Expensive compared to other brands, but worth it for a healthy, happier GSD.
My 4 month old gsd loves this food. He’s always excited to eat. No complaints from us.
My puppy tried eating this dry dog food, he weighs over 65 lbs., and he puked up the kibble in whole chunks every time he ate it. I paid a lot of money for this dog food to have my puppy puking it up and then having to clean it up and fearing he was not getting the nutrition he needed. I've always bragged on Royal Canin but not on this, avoid if you love your puppy!
I have had really good results with Royal Canin for my dogs in the past. I'm now feeding this to my standard Goldendoodle puppy. She seems to love it and has had no adverse reaction.
Made my dog fat and healthy and his fair looks great nice and shiny delivery was fast.I highly recommend
I was buying my 6 month old GSD puppy another brand of dog food which his stomach was having a hard time digesting. Royal Canin is more expensive but I used it about 6 years ago with my beloved GSD girl before she passed. She never had any digestive issues and always a gorgeous coat. The price had gone up about $40 since then hence the reason I tried another brand. With my pups issues I decided to commit to the change and bought Royal Canin large breed puppy food. Oh my goodness, my pup loves it!!! I was trying to gradually feed him this but he started refusing the other dog food and wanted only this. I had the bag in another spot and as I'm getting his food ready he would go over to the Royal Canin bag and sit and wait. His coat is already more shiny and he's having no more digestive issues. Royal Canin is more money but I love my pup so much and he loves it. It was one of three foods my vet also recommended so for me it is the right choice. I hope this helps anyone who may have any doubts about spending the extra money. It's definitely worth it!!!
The bigger pebbles initially had my dog throwing up- I’m hoping he is adjusting.
Food is great for my 4 month old shepsky, but I can purchase locally for $20.00 less!!! Will not be ordering any from chewey
Wasn't this bag 35 lbs in the "old" days? Even if it wasn't the price has gotten out of control. This is getting ridiculous.
