Royal Canin Small Puppy Dry Dog Food
Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again.
Small dogs need more than just a small kibble. They need more energy than big dogs, and they have a shorter and more intense growth period. Plus, they typically live longer than large dogs, and have a more finicky appetite. Whether we’re talking about their bodies or their lifestyle, small dogs are a little bit different from the rest of the canine world. Fortunately, Royal Canin Mini is distinctly different, too.

This is only a guide. Optimal feeding amounts may vary according to your pet's temperament, activity level and environment. If you have any questions regarding your pet's health, please contact your veterinarian.
We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.
How are Royal Canin diets preserved?
All of our dry diets are preserved naturally with mixed tocopherols, citric acid, and rosemary extract. Our canned diets are naturally preserved and sterilized during the cooking and canning process.
Where do the ingredients in Royal Canin diets come from?
We select our ingredients based on multiple factors, including the supplier’s compliance with our quality and food safety requirements, consistent availability, and on the nutrients required to meet the dietary needs of the pet.Royal Canin is making strides towards sustainability by attempting to obtain sources of raw materials as close to each manufacturing facility as possible. In some cases, we use international suppliers, because only those suppliers can offer raw materials that comply with our quality and food safety standards.
Why do some Royal Canin diets contain by-products?
Royal Canin chooses ingredients because they deliver high-quality nutrients that support our customized pet food formulas. Using chicken by-product meal instead of chicken meal for example will allow Royal Canin to maintain its highly customized nutrient standards while achieving a more secure and sustainable supply.
Why do some Royal Canin diets contain grains?
Grains can be a healthy part of any cat or dog’s diet. As always, we focus on the nutrients each ingredient provides and grains can provide many important nutrients.
How do you ensure Royal Canin diets are safe for my pet?
Our Quality and Food Safety systems are state-of-the-art and we continue to invest heavily in new technology to make sure they remain that way.* We put our suppliers through a rigorous selection process that doesn’t end with our first purchase.* We monitor every load delivered to our plants to verify the safety and quality of the ingredients we use to make pet food.* We perform tests on finished pet foods before they are shipped to our customers.* We manufacture every pet food we sell, in plants that we own; our plants are ISO 9001:2008 certified for Quality Management and ISO 22000 certified for Food Safety.
How do I know which Royal Canin diet is right for my pet?
Based on size, age, lifestyle, and breed, each cat or dog has unique nutritional needs. For healthy pets, use our Product Selector to find the right diet for your cat or dog.If your pet is experiencing health issues, please refer to your veterinarian for more information. Your veterinarian will consider multiple factors when recommending an appropriate diet.

Pupppy loveees it!!
By BeeJay on Feb 7, 2021
Switched from The Honest Kitchen Co. to Royal Canin based on Vets recommendation and my puppy loves it!!! I mixed both brands and BJ devours Royal!!! He sniffs around the bag looking for more. There is so many brands out there it’s hard to pick one...and to know it’s the “right” one for my pup! Happy with the recommendation!!!

She loves it.
By Isabella on Feb 2, 2021
My new Mini Schnauzer Isabella loves her new food. I tried to wean her off the food the breeder give her. Since she only wants dry food, I mixed the 2 together. She picked out the RC and left the rest lol. She refuses to eat the other food now. She tried to get in the bag to eat it. I had to pick the bag up off the floor so she wouldn't tear it open.

Great food
By Grammy on Jan 28, 2021
I switched my Westie puppy from Puppy Chow to Royal Canine because it had much better ingredients for him. Puppy chow just didn't seem to satisfy him. I switched him slowly but boy did he gobble it down. He's on it completely now and has a really hard time waiting until I have it ready. It was an easy switch. When he becomes an adult dog I'm going to put him on the Royal Canine for Westies.

puppy loves it
By figgy on Jan 25, 2021
I was having a hard time getting the puppy to stop snacking on the cats food but he loves this. He also didn’t have any odd stomach problems while I introduced it. The third thing that was one of the biggest parts of me reviewing this is it actually smells really good, though that might just be me. Its not strong smelling and my pups breath doesn’t stink after eating. Seems like really good quality food.

Mugsy Inhales This Food!
By Tmat on Jan 17, 2021
We switched our last dog, because of food allergies, to “Royal Canin” Duck & Potato, which turned out to be an excellent choice. I figured Mugsy, our Bichon Poodle mix, should try RC’s Puppy Chow because he didn't care for other dry brands, and he wouldn't eat until them he was starving. I was surprised to see the RC brand cleaned out of his bowl first thing in the morning! I believe that I’ll stick with Royal Canin for my dog!

My Vet recommended Royal Canin among a few others. My Puppy loves this. I had been buying smaller bags locally till I knew if she would like it and ordered a larger Qty on Chewy! Always so fast, and this product was so fresh! I love Chewy!!

Chewy and Petsmart do not have Royal Canine for my Maltese puppy. I ask the girl at the checkout stand and she said they were having a hard time getting it. WHY????

By MaltipooMom on Feb 14, 2021
My Maltipoo puppy has a pretty sensitive stomach and this food does not upset it. Other foods gave him tummy issues but he has no problems with this food plus an occasional probiotic

Excellent Puppy Food
By Burb on Dec 31, 2020
My puppy has been eating this food for over 2 months. He is consistently gaining wait and growing. Vet is extremely happy with his progress. Food is easily digested. Will continue with this brand once he’s ready to go to adult food. Side note - order food separately from treats. My bag of food was packed on top of my treats which were then crushed.

Royal Canin
By Sheila on Dec 8, 2020
I think this is a great puppy food. Both my poodle and Shiz-tue puppies love this food. Its a smaller kibble and they love it. It actually smells really good. It's much healthier and my puppies were having problems with diarrhea on regular Purina Puppy chow foods. Now their tummies are in good shape. It may cost a little more , but if it helps prevent problems and give them both a longer life without having to see the vet for health problems its much worth it. I highly recommend.
