Description

Sporting and working dogs' requirements depend on the intensity and length of their activity. That's why Royal Canin developed Sporting Life Trail 4300, for dogs with long periods of sustained activity. This formula contains a balanced level of carbohydrates, to provide energy which can be used quickly at the beginning of the physical effort, and fatty acids, which are used gradually over the exercise period to maximize performance of sporting dogs with long periods of sustained activity. It contains an exclusive combination of nutrients that helps maintain healthy joints, helps support a healthy digestive system and helps neutralize free radicals with a specific antioxidant cocktail. Due to a high level of protein, Trail 4300 also supports oxygen delivery to muscles and contributes to maintaining muscle mass.

Key Benefits
  • The perfect food for any breed of adult dog that tackles long periods of sustained activity.
  • Balanced levels of carbohydrates provide quick energy while fatty acids release gradually over the exercise period.
  • Exclusive combination of nutrients that help maintain healthy joints, digestive function, and neutralize free radicals.
  • High levels of protein help your working dog maintain muscle mass.
  • Made in the USA!

We recommend daily feeding amounts to be divided into at least 2 meals. Meals should be at least 3 hours before sporting activity and at least 2 hours after the activity.

This is only a guide. Optimal feeding amounts may vary according to your pet's temperament, activity level and environment. If you have any questions regarding your pet's health, please contact your veterinarian.

Transition Instructions

We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

FAQ

How are Royal Canin diets preserved?

All of our dry diets are preserved naturally with mixed tocopherols, citric acid, and rosemary extract. Our canned diets are naturally preserved and sterilized during the cooking and canning process.

Where do the ingredients in Royal Canin diets come from?

We select our ingredients based on multiple factors, including the supplier’s compliance with our quality and food safety requirements, consistent availability, and on the nutrients required to meet the dietary needs of the pet.Royal Canin is making strides towards sustainability by attempting to obtain sources of raw materials as close to each manufacturing facility as possible. In some cases, we use international suppliers, because only those suppliers can offer raw materials that comply with our quality and food safety standards.

Why do some Royal Canin diets contain by-products?

Royal Canin chooses ingredients because they deliver high-quality nutrients that support our customized pet food formulas. Using chicken by-product meal instead of chicken meal for example will allow Royal Canin to maintain its highly customized nutrient standards while achieving a more secure and sustainable supply.

Why do some Royal Canin diets contain grains?

Grains can be a healthy part of any cat or dog’s diet. As always, we focus on the nutrients each ingredient provides and grains can provide many important nutrients.

How do you ensure Royal Canin diets are safe for my pet?

Our Quality and Food Safety systems are state-of-the-art and we continue to invest heavily in new technology to make sure they remain that way.* We put our suppliers through a rigorous selection process that doesn’t end with our first purchase.* We monitor every load delivered to our plants to verify the safety and quality of the ingredients we use to make pet food.* We perform tests on finished pet foods before they are shipped to our customers.* We manufacture every pet food we sell, in plants that we own; our plants are ISO 9001:2008 certified for Quality Management and ISO 22000 certified for Food Safety.

How do I know which Royal Canin diet is right for my pet?

Based on size, age, lifestyle, and breed, each cat or dog has unique nutritional needs. For healthy pets, use our Product Selector to find the right diet for your cat or dog.If your pet is experiencing health issues, please refer to your veterinarian for more information. Our Mals love it!

RC has been our go to for both dog and cat foods. It’s expensive but worth it to us because our pets remain energetic, healthy and with beautiful coats. Our Mals love this particular dog food, especially so with our little girl who enjoys smaller sized kibble. We use it as rewards as well.

My wife and I have a young dog that we found abandoned and starving, we named her Penny. She appears to be mostly Blue Heeler; however, since we live in the country, there may be a little Coyote in the gene mix. I recently met a veterinarian and had a long conversation about quality dog food and canine health. I explained to her, that I use quality dog kibble and top dress it with freshly prepared ground turkey, rice, carrots, green beans and peas. She recommended Royal Canin. She further stated it was one of the few brands that have never had a product recalled. We just switched Penny to Royal Canin Sporting Life Trail; she loves it. She will eat the kibble before eating the turkey stew. My wife and I have a young dog that we found abandoned and starving, we named her Penny. The bottom line; great product, highly palatable at a good price. … more
