My dog has early kidney disease, and the vet recommended this food for her. At first she ate it well, but after a few cans, she lost interest in it. I have had to order 3 different flavors to try alternating them. That means $300+ for 24 cans of each flavor. I end up having around 18 cans of unopened food. I wish Royal Canin (or Chewy) offered a variety pack, or at least a few trial cans (maybe 6 of each). I am all about donating unopened cans, but this is not affordable in retirement with two dogs.
With an ancient doggo and one long term medical with PLN Chewy has been a lifesaver for us. Local shortages the last few years were potentially life-threatening, Chewy came through with specialized foods meds toys whatever the need. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Five stars 10/10 & two thumbs up!
My nearly 16 yr old ShihTzu was recently diagnosed with Kidney failure. She had been on Science Diet but her Vet recommended Royal Canin as an option. I feed her SD in the morning and Royal Canin for dinner. It has stimulated her appetite and she is enjoying it very much. Thank you.
My 16 year old dog did not want to eat her food, she lost 16 lbs to 10 lbs and by switching to this food she is eating more although due to her age she no longer has much muscle mass but she is alert and healthy eating it with pleasure and asking for more.
Our dog was into it for a week, and then she completely stopped eating the food. I wish we got more guidance when it comes to these special renal support diets. I need something that she'll eat. This isn't cheap food.
My 14-year-old terrier mix has kidney disease. I'm trying to keep her happy and with me for as long as I can. She was prescribed renal diet dog food, and she enjoys the canned food.
I’m not sure what’s happened. I was buying individual cans from the vet and my dog was loving it. The minute I offered food from this case my dog refused it. It’s always difficult when you’re dealing with these prescription foods. I continued to offer her it over the next few days and she won’t even taste it. Now is my dog the problem or has the formulation of the food changed?
I trust Royal Canin for quality products. Our dog would not eat other brand renal wet or dry food. Our rural local vets do not stock; Chewy provided fast service. She loves the thin slices in gravy!
My 14 year old dog has had many health issues and has several teeth pulled. When he was put on renal support dog food we used hills version 1st. When we finally tried this brand he was his perky excited self at meal times and eats his entire portion. I am so glad we made the switch.
My 14 year old grand dog (Roscoe) loves this food! Thank you for helping me to get it. Hopefully, this will help us to keep him in the family a little longer.
