Seems to be good so far
I bought this because my regular veterinary diet food (Rayne Rabbit Maint) - which my cat loves and works very well for her skin sensitivity - was out of stock. This seemed the best alternative. She doesn't like it quite as well as the other food but so far - after a couple of weeks - her sensitivities have not been triggered. Should say that she is also on an immunotherapy program so its hard to say what is really doing the trick. All in all a good choice for allergy prone cat.
Kitty doesn't like this
I love the excellent service and customer care from Chewy - but according to my cute little kitty, this product is unacceptable. He will not eat it and pushes me away when I try hand-feeding him. Sadly we still need to find something which appeals to him and his sensitive stomach.
My cat LOVES this food!
My cat loves this food!! We just recently added it to her diet and were worried because she can be a picky eater, but she took right to it. We had to transition her to a limited diet a few months ago because has IBD, but she was recently diagnosed with steroid-induced diabetes and her hydrolyzed protein diet is not an ideal fit for that diagnosis so we started looking into a select protein diet instead. This food is much lower carb than her other food so it does not raise her glucose levels nearly as much, but even more importantly, SHE LOVES IT. She's been eating it for a little over a week and is up to 2-3 cans a day (she is very underweight because of her recent health issues so she is allowed to have as much as she wants). We prepare it with a good amount of water so that it helps her stay hydrated too. Cost is not ideal, but seeing her happy and eagerly eating this food after all the trouble we've had with her IBD issues the past few months makes it worth it for us.
My cat is unable to tolerate most proteins except for this product. For over a year, I searched to refill his order and when everyone else was on backorder, Chewy came through! My cat is feeling so much better now and he now runs to the bowl when he is being served. Thanks Chewy!
He likes it!
Having a picky Maine Coon (and aren’t all cats picky???) who apparently has a food allergy since birth we had to see vet to correct his “output” problem. Since he had only eaten salmon she went with a novel protein diet and this was RC PD wet and dry. I was prepared for finicky and refusal. Not so. He took to it, well, like a duck. One thing I did do. It tends to be solidly packed so I add a wee bit of warm water to loosen it a bit. Since it must be kept refrigerated after opening I also give it 5 seconds in microwave to warm up. And he gobbled it down. Good work and thank you!
Cats love this food!
My vet recommended this food for one of my cats that we think has food allergies. He and his brothers all love it and he seems to be tolerating it well. Also the cans go a long way.
Great product and great service!
My cat loves this food and it sits very well on her very finicky stomach. But this review is not just about the product. It's about Chewey! I had been having a lot of trouble for the past 2 years getting this product from the online pharmacy associated with my vet. It is very, very frequently on backorder and I often never get it. This time, I decided to try Chewey and got the delivery the day after my vet approved the order! Thank you Chewey for relieving my stress! I was getting very low on cat food.
Didn't work fo my cat. She loves the venison and the rabbit but not the duck. It is sticky and absolutely no juice in it what so ever. I think she would eat it if it was like the others being alittle wetter. U can't just add water to it. It's not the same thing.
Meh - not well liked & very expensive
Purchased as a trial for cat with skin issues/? Allergies. This food is pate and my cats don’t care much for pate style. I have to put canned cat food gravy on this to get my cat to eat even some of it - which defeats the purpose of trialing hypoallergenic foods. This food is very expensive too. It’s been 2 weeks and I cannot say the food is making a difference in the skin issues. We don’t even know if the cat has food allergies. But something is causing her to chew the fur off and gnaw at her skin. I will continue the trial until the case of food runs out. I will most likely prepare and cook my cat’s meals in my kitchen. It will save me a ton of $$$.
My cat loves this food!
One of my cats needs to be on this diet and I'm so grateful she absolutely loves it. The cost is high, but it seems to be helping her and I appreciate the quality I've found in Royal Canin foods over the years.
