WHY CANT I GET MY CAT HIS FOOD

Weeks. Weeks now I’ve been messaging chewy asking when this will be restocked. And every time I get the same “it’ll be 1-2 weeks” answer. I want 1-2 week. Nothing. Message them again, SAME ANSWER. Why can’t I get a straight answer regarding my cats food availability?? I can’t even get my auto shipments fulfilled. It’s exhausting and my cat hates the other food we’ve tried to replace this with. So frustrating.

Good, but expensive

One of my two cats was diagnosed with probable IBD, and I was given a sample can of this to see if they would eat it. They are siblings and it’s impossible to feed them different foods, so they both have to like it. The healthy one took to it immediately but the one who needs it, not as much. I then mixed this with their previous canned food and that was working, so decided to order a case. I did not have a written prescription from the vet and it was a Friday afternoon, so after ordering online I called Chewy to see if they could contact their office before closing at 5:30. The person I spoke to assured me they could. I then called the vet’s office to alert them. I was skeptical I’d be able to get the food approved before Monday, but Chewy came through and it was delivered to me on Sunday! Both cats are eating this food by itself now. I would have given 5 stars, but I think the cost is excessive for the amount of food in the can.

Hopefully a good subsitute for PR

I had my cat to the vet dermatologist for his itching problem. We changed the food protein as it can be a big source of allergic reactions. The vet wrote a prescription for Royal Canin peas and rabbit and it did the trick. With covid, the manufacturer has been very spotty with supplying Chewy. In keeping with the change in protein, I asked our vet to write a prescription for peas and venison. My cat seems to really like it and so far there is no itching after eating 12 cans. My only complaint is the food is really dense and rather dry. I break it apart out of the can and then let it soak with some added water so I can make it a smooth, thinner mix. It's the same price as the PR so at least it's not costing me more, but it is not cheap. I'm glad I could find an alternative when the other food is out of stock.

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet

Our cat loves this special diet. I received my first autoship order promptly. I found however, i had to change from 3 week delivery to every 2 weeks as it looks like I may run out of food. The gentleman John B on chat was very helpful and fixed everything up for me. I had originally called but got a recording and then a person bombarding me with solicitations for health insurance. This is a pet food company not a pharmacy! Other than that I am satisfied and would recommend the food if someone needs it.

Severely inconsistent quality

I’ve been buying this on and off for years as it’s a suitable diet for our cat with IBD. Every batch is different. The last straw for me is the most recent one I ordered is so dense and dry that even mixing it with so much water that it is SOUP causing my cat (with dental issues) to painfully grind his teeth to ingest. It’s time to find something new with better quality control. For a sensitive diet food, and that price, I’m disappointed and shocked.

Picky eaters

Our vet recommended this Royal Canin Veterinary Diet canned food for our cat who overgrooms herself. She and the other two cats are mildly indifferent to the PV (venison) and PD (duck). Given the size of the cans (5.1 oz) vs the usual (3.0 oz) there is some wastage, also consider the cost. But the quality is excellent.

PURRFECT !!!

My senior cat started throwing up regularly after eating and my vet switched her to this food. Snap! Immediate improvement. I tried going back to other food and of course she started throwing up again. Duh. PV it is !

A literal lifesaver

Our cat, Louie, developed inflammation bowel disease and needed to eat only novel meat (proteins he’s not eaten before). We got him the venison canned food and duck dried kibbles. He loves them both and he has responded very well to them. His coat is softer, he is happier and he enjoys eating again!

Good food!

Charlie has stopped throwing up since I got Royal Canin! I hope this will continue since she throws up everything. She can't have dry food and it seems every thing I bought bothers her stomach.

Pricey but seems worth it

One of our cats has food allergies, and this is one of his prescribed foods. He loves it, fortunately. It’s expensive, but he’s healthy and hasn’t had any issues with this so it’s been a great option.
