Worried About Your Dog’s Urinary Health?

Your veterinarian is the expert on your dog’s health, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best urinary health solutions for your pet. Royal Canin works closely with veterinarians to develop dog formulas that support urinary tract and bladder health.

How Can Nutrition Help?

Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin Urinary dog food formula for your best friend. These special formulations can:

Dilute Urine

This helps your dog urinate more often, which can help minimize time for stones to form.

Lower RSS

RSS methodology predicts urine crystallization and is used to develop diets that reduce the risk of stone formation.

Maintain Balance

A precise mineral balance can also help prevent stones from forming.

Questions & Answers

Is there any safe way to soften these kibbles. They are extremely hard and my small dog doesn’t have many teeth and is unable to chew it. I currently run it through the food processor. The whole kibbles are left behind uneaten.
Answer by ChewyMay 08, 2019
Adding water to the kibble can soften the pieces to make it easier for your dog to eat.

Appx. what size does an individual piece of this kibble (Royal Canin Urinary s/o Moderate Calorie Dry Dog Food measure?
Answer by ChewyJan 23, 2020
The kibble in this formula is square shaped, and slightly smaller than an M&M.

You list a min fat content....what is the maximum fat content in the SO Moderate?
Answer by ChewyAug 01, 2019
I did some digging and the recipes are formulated to target the minimum content that is provided in the Guaranteed and Nutrient Analysis, any deviation from this percentage would be minimal. Please speak with your veterinarian to ensure this value is low enough to be a suitable diet for your pet.

How long will this kibble stay fresh?
Answer by ChewyApr 02, 2022
Every expiration date will be different for each bag, as different batches are constantly being produced. Manufacturers establish “best by” dates to ensure the safety of your pet. Look for the expiration date on the bottom of your cat's food bag or cans, and plan to use up the food before that date.

Quality drop

My dogs been on this food for over 6 years, last bag I got in had her puking yellow everywhere and going in the house. She’s not a dog that pukes ever and I can count on my hand the amount of times she gone potty inside, each time when she’s sick. She refuses to eat this food now, even when I went to the local pet store to see if it was just a bad bag. Be careful getting this for your pet, I don’t know what’s going on but the quality has changed drastically.

Royal Canin Urinary SO wet/dry dog food

My dog has been on the Hills prescription diet urinary care c/d wet/dry/treats for years to prevent struvites from forming. She LOVED that dog food, but this moderate calorie version with the same purpose was recommended by my vet, for weight control. I was wondering if she would like it, and she preferred it over the other! She just loves it, and I’m hoping she might slim down some as a result. Upon adopting her about eight years ago, after only six months, we found she’d needed bladder stone surgery, and I was told she needs this urinary care food her whole life.

Really Works!

Bambi had bladder stones until she started this food. It cleared them up right away. I did the research on all the prescription foods for this condition and chose this one. I couldn't be more pleased.

this really works

Prescribed and recommended by my Veterinary as a conservative approach or otherwise it would be surgery for my dog. So we gave it a shot to see if we would see results. We gave it 3 months and it worked. Highly recommend this product if your Vet suggests it, at least give it a try.

My dog prefers this

Since Sam was diagnosed with crystals in his urine, he's been on a special food. The food is so expensive! And he hasn't liked any of them, so I've been trying different brands and he's been enthusiastic about Eukanuba so far. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Dog throwing up... Horrible

The last few days my dog has been throwing up yellow foam from this dog food... I do NOT recommend this brand at all! After further review it has horrible ratings & reviews and not to mention scary reviews. If your dog has uti problems I recommend a different route. Steer clear of this.

Great product, high price.

This is a great product. The price has gotten so much higher than ever before. I have to buy it for my dog but it hurts the budget.
