About Royal Canin Dermatology For Dogs

Worried About Your Dog’s Skin Health?

Skin health concerns are common and can appear anywhere on your dog’s body. Your veterinarian is the expert on your dog’s health, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best solutions for your pet. This specialized expertise is why Royal Canin works closely with veterinarians to develop formulas that support skin health.

Common Causes of Skin Health Concerns

Environmental Sensitivities

Pollen, plants and dust are environmental factors that can trigger an immune response in some dogs.

Food Sensitivities

Your veterinarian may recommend a diet elimination trial to help determine if your pet has a sensitivity to certain proteins in his current diet.

Your dog can pick up external parasites such as mites, fleas, ticks and lice from contaminated sources, both indoors and out

Puppies, older dogs, and dogs that have recently been ill may be more susceptible to bacterial infections that can lead to skin health concerns.

How Can Nutrition Help?

Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin Dermatology formula for your dog. These special formulations can:

Aid digestive health by regulating movement through the GI tract and supporting balanced digestive flora

Support the skin’s natural protective barrier

Aid cellular health with a complex blend of antioxidants.

Promote healthy skin and coat by providing long chain omega-3 fatty acids in the diet

Find The Perfect Balance

With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.

Keep your pet's feeding on schedule.  Set your order for Autoship to make sure you always have their veterinarian-recommended nutrition on hand.

Quality Product

First-time purchase of this product as part of a new, full-fledged vegetarian diet for my standard poodle, who was recently diagnosed with severe IDB. I have been feeding this for less than two weeks but he definitely really likes this food and it has helped settle his GI issues. I am intending this to be an ongoing core component to his new diet. Be careful and follow instructions on opening the bag, as it meant to be resealable to maintain freshness.

Leo did not like it

I had to put different things on his food to get him to eat it. Also much more expensive than his traditional hepatic formula that was unavailable. Will not purchase again.

Royal Canin Vegetarian dog food

I am raising My dog Vegan so transitioning to this Vet recommended dog food over the VDog food I was using. My dog loves the combo so far no issues.

GSD Puppy with possible food allergy or pancreatic issues

If you had a 20 star review - I would give you 20!!! You helped me in a time of desperation needing a quick switch on food since we were in need of this RX food - our puppy was sick and you went above and beyond to ensure I had within 24 hours - cannot thank you enough! We have been on this food for 5 days and HUGE noticeable improvement in his bowels and itchy skin!

Replacement Food due to supply chain shortage

I love using Chewy for my pets needs. The ease and convenience surpasses all others. Through no fault of the company my older dogs prescription food became suddenly out of stock. With no options we ordered the dry food formula which was refused causing a bit of a scramble to find something that he could and would eat. Although I spent a significant amount for a bag of food that can’t be used in my house, I will be donating it to a shelter near me. It will not go to waste.

Silly Picky Pup

The allergist suggested we try this food for our old boy who has lived with bad allergies all his 12 years. "I" thought and still do think, it was a great option. Sadly, Greg didn't. I think it was the size of the kibble. He is old and has no front bottom teeth. His other food he was small and flat so he could just chew a little and swallow. Chewy and Royal Canin are first class. They didn't hesitate to give me credit for it and I was able to find a local gal whose dog was on it. That was a win-win for us both. Thanks to Chewy and Royal Canin for all they do for these 4 legged kids.

Dog won't eat it

Sadly, my dog won't touch this food. It's a downer. Can't recommend.

My boxer’s officially a vegetarian

My almost 2yr old boxer has either IBD or a chicken allergy. He was vomiting randomly from 6 months to about a year old before we figured it out. We tried this food to rule out chicken and the vomiting stopped. He absolutely LOVES this food, devours it in a minute. The only issue with this food is sometimes it’s out of stock/ hard to find and I have to hope that it comes back in stock before I run out of food for him. Other than that I would recommend it to anyone that has a fur baby with a sensitive stomach!
