About Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Health For Dogs

Worried About Your Dog’s Digestion?

Your dog’s gastrointestinal (GI) system helps support the rest of the body by properly digesting food and making sure to extract the nutrients needed for overall health. Your veterinarian is the expert on your dog, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best gastrointestinal health solutions and management options for your pet.

Know Your Dog’s GI System

  1. Stomach: The first part of the GI tract, where inflammation may lead to vomiting.
  2. Small Intestine and Pancreas: The small intestine is responsible for nutrient absorption and the pancreas aids digestion. A high-fat diet or treats may cause pancreatic inflammation.
  3. Large Colon (Transverse): Responsible for forming stool.
  4. Large Colon (Descending): Integral to stool formation—any disruption here may lead to constipation or diarrhea.
  5. Rectum: Where stool leaves the body.

How Nutrition Can Help

Talk to your vet about your dog’s GI tract and what diet can help keep it healthy. Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin GI formula that is:

Easily digestible to help reduce the load on the gastrointestinal tract

Formulated with omega-3 fatty acids, EPA, and DHA to aid digestive health, plus antioxidants for immune support.

Highly palatable to encourage eating, even when appetite is decreased due to gastrointestinal upset

Balanced for good digestion, with a blend of fibers and prebiotics to support digestive health

Find The Perfect Balance

With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.

Keep your cat's feeding on schedule.  Set your order for Autoship to make sure you always have their veterinarian-recommended nutrition on hand.

Beyond Helpful

My dog has suffered from some of the worst gastrointestinal problems. We were on multiple prescription foods and nothing helped. Finally this product from Royal Canin has been so helpful for her. We no longer here the upset stomach at night. She actually eats all her food and begs for more. Her bathroom movements have been solid since switching. Everything has just been better for her on this food.

Helped my dog's diarrhea

My dog, Leo, has had diarrhea almost constantly for the last 10 months. We've been in and out of the vet. We've tried tons of different prescriptions. But nothing has seemed to help. I was at my wit's end. With nothing left to lose, I decided to give this dog food a try! I knew the science behind fiber and how it can help bulk up stools. But wasn't expecting it to work this quickly. Leo has been on this food for a few weeks, and he's consistently having solid poops. So five stars for that! My only complaint is that this is relatively low-calorie. Leo was previously on the Low-Fat option from Royal Canin, and that was even lower cal. So it's been hard to keep weight on him. We're having to give him larger volumes of food to keep up with his calorie needs. I wish Royal Canin offered a High Fiber food that was higher calorie.

Simply the Best

Our little Cavalier has had stomach issues since we brought her home in January 2021. We tried several different puppy foods under another brand, and although it helped, she still had issues. We had our other Cavalier on Royal Canin Gastrointestinal for years with great success. Once our little Talo could have adult food we asked the Vet to authorize use of this food. She has only been on it for two weeks and there is a huge difference. She also eats the entire meal. Before, she would often leave several bites in the dish. We highly recommend trying Royal Canin Gastrointestinal if you dog has a sensitive stomach, with your Vets ok, of course.

Great product

I have used Royal Canin perscription products for several of my dogs and know the lengths the company goes through for providing the best, and the cleanist manufacturing facilities. It also works, from gastro to urinary and onwards, it is marvelous. I always feel my dogs are safe using this product, and once on it, the problems cease.

Royal Canin High Fiber food

My dog had so many issues with his stomach. We had always used sensitive skin and stomach food but it wasn't helping. After many tests and vet bills my vet suggested this food. It worked miracles for our dog.
