Questions & Answers

What is the issue with this product not being in stock? Thankfully I had almost a fresh bag but I have moved my autoship four times now. Will you stop carrying this? I cannot find any information online talking about distributor issues with this feed brand.

Please can you tell me how many kibble ( royal canin hepatic ) make 1 gm of protein, i calculated it as 6 or 7 but need to be correct. thanks
Answer by ChewyJan 21, 2021
There are 86 grams of food per cup and 13 grams of protein within that amount. This is not an exact as we do not have specific calculations to accurately break it down to one kibble due to that is not the way it is formulated to be fed.

What is the copper content mg/kg please
Answer by ChewyMar 23, 2021
This recipe has a maximum copper content of 6 milligrams per kilogram.

What is percentage of phosphorous, sodium, carbohydrates and calcium? What are the proteins—animal or vegetable? What is the protein percentage of which animal(s) and/or which vegetables?
Answer by ChewyJul 18, 2019
The phosphorus content is 0.52%, the sodium is 0.21% and the calcium is 0.75%. The protein source is hydrolyzed soy. Royal Canin does not report the percentage of each individual protein as that is proprietary information and part of recipe. The total protein content is approximately 16%.

She Likes It!

We found our pup had copper storage disease and she was prescribed a L/D diet. Royal Canin has the lowest copper in their food. I was pleased that she liked it. Has not had any stomach issues. It is a smaller kibble (pictured on the right) and if you have a larger dog they may gobble it up. Mango was eating the Royal Canin Labrador Adult kibble (on the left) and it is a much larger kibble. I prefer a smaller kibble for my working dog and I can reward her work and she can eat the little nugget easier than the larger one. Happy with this product.

Great food for dogs with liver issues

My long haired chihuahua has a narrow portal vein and there is a blood clot there. We found out at 6 months old. Went to a specialist for it. Could have tried a shunt but he didn’t think it would honestly help much. Well, she will be 13 next May!! This food helps keep her liver healthy. Vet recommended it, been on it majororyvof her life. (The switch took some time. Now she loves it) We watch what everything we give her has in it. Liver friendly as much as possible. I truly believe all these things help keep her healthy.

Too small too expensive

I understand you are inly a distributer but at least two years in a row you run out of the large bag of the Hepatic dog food which forces me to buy multiple small bags which are more expensive. I have no choice to recomend this item. My dogs life is dependent on it.
