About Royal Canin Dermatology For Dogs

Worried About Your Dog’s Skin Health?

Skin health concerns are common and can appear anywhere on your dog’s body. Your veterinarian is the expert on your dog’s health, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best solutions for your pet. This specialized expertise is why Royal Canin works closely with veterinarians to develop formulas that support skin health.

Common Causes of Skin Health Concerns

Environmental Sensitivities

Pollen, plants and dust are environmental factors that can trigger an immune response in some dogs.

Food Sensitivities

Your veterinarian may recommend a diet elimination trial to help determine if your pet has a sensitivity to certain proteins in his current diet.

Parasites

Your dog can pick up external parasites such as mites, fleas, ticks and lice from contaminated sources, both indoors and out

Infection

Puppies, older dogs, and dogs that have recently been ill may be more susceptible to bacterial infections that can lead to skin health concerns.

How Can Nutrition Help?

Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin Dermatology formula for your dog. These special formulations can:

Aid digestive health by regulating movement through the GI tract and supporting balanced digestive flora

Support the skin’s natural protective barrier

Aid cellular health with a complex blend of antioxidants.

Promote healthy skin and coat by providing long chain omega-3 fatty acids in the diet

Find The Perfect Balance

With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.

Autoship

Keep your pet's feeding on schedule.  Set your order for Autoship to make sure you always have their veterinarian-recommended nutrition on hand.

Answer by ChewyAug 19, 2020
This food is made in Royal Canin's manufacturing facilities in Missouri and South Dakota. All of Royal Canin's ingredients are sourced based on whether they meet their quality and food safety demands rather than with a sole focus on country of origin. Due to the heavy attention to the safety of their products, they don't release specific sourcing information as it could change from batch to batch based on whether a supplier is meeting their quality and safety standards.

Chewy has what you need when you need it

My dog loves this food. He has severe allergies and has eaten it without problems for years and Chewy has it when no one else does. That's why I changed my auto delivery to Chewy!

Not For Our Dog

Our 10 year old cockapoo was prescribed this dog food bc our vet thinks his allergies come from his current dog food. We tried a very little amount for a week and it caused him to vomit, diarrhea and eventually he just would not eat it.

This Stuff Works

Solved my mini poodle's stomach issues like vomiting, IBS, constipation, bleeding in stool, diverticulitis or whatever she had. Used in small amounts along with mainly the canned RC Hydrolyzed Protein. Also use the dry for my overweight schnoodle along with mixed veges. They prefer RC to Purina but IDK why.

Great dog food

My dog, who has severe skin allergies as well as a weight problem from being on prednisone, has found relief with this food and has also lost weight.

Our two allergy girl's and digestive issues and they are siblings.

This food has did wonders for them they are a lot better than from where they started from. They inherited this from their mother we are pretty sure. One has allergies more so than the other and they both deal with digestive issues/gastrointestinal. They are our sweetest babies ever and I know the food is high that part I don't like but they would be miserable without it and one has to also take Apoqell to ad in her allergies.

Ambivalent about Royal Canin

My Tibetan Terrier has been on Royal Canin hydrolized protein kibble ever since he had a month of diarrhea in reaction to the Credelio flea and tick preventative recommended by his then new SF vet. More GI trouble ensued, complicated by what was supposed to be the curative addition of dehydrated raw food to his diet, resulting in rapid weight gain and culminating in occasional seizures. Now my TT gets only the moderate calorie RC HP kibble and nothing else, and that has ended his GI trouble and seizures and is helping with weight control. However, neither of us is happy with his food, which also stains his teeth and beard and gives him bad breath, never mind the expense and inconvenience of always only being able to buy online with a vet's approval. Chewy makes it easy, but still, food should be one of my TTs joys, which it has not been for the last 15 months!
