My cat weighs 13.2 lbs I feed him 1/2 cup a day satiety plus a 3 oz can wet but yet he still cries to eat and sits by his bowl. At night he bites my feet and cries until we feed him. What should I do?
Answer by ChewyOct 31, 2018
It's recommended to following the feeding instructions to maintain your cat's tartget weight.

My vet put my cat on a diet, she is a little overweight and prescribed Royal Canin Satiety Feline. Looking at the ingredients, I am questioning the chicken by product meal, wheat, wheat gluten, corn gluten etc... I thought these ingredients were not good for animals.
Answer by ChewySep 06, 2018
All of these diets are formulated to meet the AAFCO nutrient guidelines and are completely balanced diets. We encourage pet parents to consult with their veterinarian to determine an accurate diagnosis and the best formula for their pets.

No satiety support

Giving this product one star because at least they like the food. My two orange tabbies will devour this food, as if they’ve never been fed. We were informed by our vet this should help them feel more full longer, it’ll help them lose weight, and we should have less begging from them. It’s honestly as if this food makes them more hungry and beg even more, if not constantly. An hour passes by, and they’re ready to eat again. We can’t walk near our pantry without being followed and constant meowing. We get woken up constantly in the night for food, no matter how late we wait to feed them their dinner. My cats never seem “satiated” after eating this food. I feel this food is a waste for all the money I’ve spent on it over the past year.

They like it!

The cats apparently don't know that it's diet food, and they eat it just as happily as if it were their regular favorite. Before I found Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Adult Satiety Support Weight Management Dry Cat Food, I'd mix another brand with their fave in the same bowl, and they would manage to just leave that other one in the bowl. Now they get a 2:1 mix of the Satiety Support food and their favorite, and they eat it all up. Only problem: I don't know that they are losing any weight. But at least they're not getting fatter.

Incredible progress

This food was recommended by my vet after my "always starving" cat Homer weighed in at a whopping 16 lbs. We also purchased automatic feeders which have been life changing. Homer got so big he couldn't jump on the counter or clean himself properly =(. Within 9 months he was down to 9 lbs. I was very worried about potential health issues as that is a lot of weight lost in a short period of time, but everything was normal at his recent checkup. He may not know it but Homer is a happier, healthier boy. My lady void Sheba is much less active but lost about 4 lbs in the same 9 months.

Disappointed

My Vet ordered this because my cat was/is always acting hungry despite being fed adequate food. This food did not do the trick at all. He will eat it and appear satisfied after eating it but still relentlessly tries to steal food every time you open the refrigerator and stalks, as well as, successfully captures food during preparation and/or consumption. He's terrible! I have seen a little improvement with using a SENTRY CALM COLLAR that I got for a different purpose.

Cats on Diets

I buy this because 2 of my 6 cats are on diets, so they all are. However, the way all 6 eat this, I'm not sure any of them are losing weight! They love it so I'll keep buying it! (And, yes, after weighing at the vet's, the 2 in particular have lost some weight, just not quite enough)

My two slightly tubby 'kids' **love** the Adulty Satiety Support

I had originally purchased a Farmina weight control formula because Farmina is the normal brand I use for my two adults and kitten [what their breeder uses]. When I told her I was putting the two adults on Farmina's weight loss formula, she told me this Royal Canin variety is better for a diet because of the way it swells up in their tummies more than the Farmina, helping them feel full, so I ordered a bag. Yes, one is supposed to gradually transition to it, but I went 'cold turkey.' Both really, really enjoyed it from the first bite. After posting this I am placing another order for it. I do not plan using this indefinitely. Once both get to their ideal weights, 6.5 kg and about 8.5 kg, I am changing back to the maintenance formula of Farmina, maybe adding a bit of Royal Canin Satiety to it. I prefer the ingredients in Farmina. Maybe I should add that neither is a picky eater, the reason they have to go on a diet and I had to buy large tins to store crackers and bread. The smaller one will push beef coming to room temperature onto the floor so both can chomp on it. Ever serve a prime rib with hunks out of it or strip steaks with edges missing and a hole in the middle? I have, lol [assume the heat will kill any germs]. Bringing to room temperature now done in the oven or microwave.

Sully loves it

When I got Sully from Denver Dumb Friends League 9 years ago he was slightly overweight and my vet put him on Satiety. He is perfectly happy with it and is doing great.

Excellent product to reduce the weight of my feline. Vet price for same product twice as high and he happily wrote the prescription for Chewy. Fast delivery, no shipping charge. I have dealt with Chewy for years for both dog and cat and have never been disappointed.
