I have no idea what kinds of ingredient they put. I have been seeing these dark, sharp edges of tiny pieces in this canned food for couple months. Today, I really want to k ow what they are. So I tried to pick them out from the can and washed them. I could not even tear it with my hand. They are very hard and have sharp edges. I wonder anyone notice about these mysterious ingredients. I hope they are safe to eat for cats. My cat has been suffering from kidney failure already and I do not want extra suffer for him. I am pretty sure anyone who order this canned food have the same concern as me. So I wanted to share this.
The vet suggested this food for our 16-year old female kitty whose renal values are a little elevated but not too bad yet. I cannot believe how much she likes this food. She does like pates, which this is, and it took her a couple of tries before she warmed up to it, but once she got a taste, she was hooked. We have seen her ignore food she doesn't like for an entire day, but not so for this food. It is a little thick, but you can just add a teaspoon of water to it. Our kitty likes it either way.
I was worried when the Vet told me that I would have to place Oscar on a renal diet because cats are finicky animals and as an ICU and hemodialysis nurse, I can tell you how horrible human renal diets are and how most patients are noncompliant because the food is bland and has severe restrictions. Oscar, however, pounced on the dry food and the wet food like it was the best thing he ever tasted. WIN WIN!
Trying everything to get my senior Kidney Kitty to eat the prescription diets. This is probably her favorite!
My 16 year old male indoor cat is getting old and has kidney issues and he loves this stuff and he is a very picky eater and doesn't eat a lot of the store bought wet cat food. He chows this stuff down. Highly recommend!.. especially if old + kidney issues.
My cats LOVED this smooth pate canned food. However, as cats usually do, they aren't eating it like crazy like they did at first. They still like it, but cats like variety so I've had to order different brands. Overall, they prefer the Royal Canin brand in the can and dry food.
Both of my cats love this flavor. They like the other two Royal Canin varieties but there is always something left in the bowl for those, there is never anything left of the this flavor.
my guy has not been a fan of any prescription food. surprisingly, he does seem to enjoy this one-but when eats 2 or more his poop is quite soft. there are times when he leaves it. this can showing is not the one i ordered but the description is correct.
. . what the doctor approved, actually. Chewy.com has integrity in that your vet must approve specialty items. Way to go, Chewy!
This is a change in food for my 12 year old cat who is starting to have renal issues. He loves it and licks the bowl clean twice a day.
