About Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Health For Cats

Worried About Your Cat’s Digestion?

Your cat’s gastrointestinal (GI) system helps support the rest of the body by properly digesting food and making sure to extract the nutrients needed for overall health. Your veterinarian is the expert on your cat, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best gastrointestinal health solutions and management options for your pet.

Know Your Cat’s GI System

  1. Mouth: where ingestion of hair and formation of hairballs can occur, due to frequent grooming.
  2. Stomach: the first part of the GI tract, where inflamation may lead to vomitting.
  3. Small Intestine and Pancreas: where the small intestine is responsible for absorption of nutrients within the diet and the pancreas aids in digestion.
  4. Large Colon (Tranverse): which is responsible for forming stool.
  5. Large Colon (Descending): which is responsible for forming stool; any alteration to this process may lead to constipation or diarrhea.
  6. Rectum: where stool leaves the body

How Nutrition Can Help

Talk to your vet about your concerns for your pet's GI tract health. Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin GI formula that is:

Rich in nutrients and easily digestible

Balanced for good digestion, with a blend of fibers and prebiotics to support digestive health

Highly palatable to encourage eating, even when appetite is decreased due to gastrointestinal upset

Find The Perfect Balance

With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.

Recommended by Our 12 Yr Old Abyssinian

Our Abby is a senior now and at times seems to drop weight even though he's eating plenty of Royal Canin prescription (gastrointestinal) food. When we start to see his spine marks through his fur we add calories to his diet as prescribed by his vet-- kitten food. This is like cat candy to an older cat and we mix it with his other dry Royal Canin food. It works great and he will put on a small amount of weight over about two months. Works every time and it's like we're giving him a treat. Highly recommended by Toffee, the Abyssinian.

Way To EXPENSIVE

Way to expensive... Can find other items that work at a much lower price. Especially during this time with inflation.

My kittens are NOT fans of this

I was hoping our kittens would enjoy this food, since they seemed to enjoy the sample we got from the vet, but once we got this bag they were 100% not interested in it at all and it seems they prefer the adult GI food instead. Kind of a bummer because we have a big bag of this now!

Last Saving Grace!!

After multiple vet visits, we hit a wall and was told that she’d need to see a very costly specialist to get her diarrhea under control. We had to consider rehoming her at one point because we could no longer afford the healthcare she needed. I brought this up to our vet and they wrote a prescription. Within TWO days her endless diarrhea was OVER! I know this has made her feel so much better. You can see a difference and she loves it!

works great!!!!

I have tried several options on kitten food for my kittens diarrhea and this was my last hope. After just 2 days my kittens poop was firm and diarrhea is gone!! No other food has helped like this one!! Yes it is pricey would love even more if the price would reduce but otherwise a great product!!!!

good product & good service

Product seems to be helping with my kitten's diarrhea. It's not her favorite dry food, but she's eating it. I had incorrectly ordered the adult version, but a quick phone call to a cheerful customer service rep. switched it to the kitten version.

Helpful for kitten

This is the first food to help with our kitten’s on-going upset stomach. We paired this with the Royal Canin gastrointestinal wet food as well.

Pricey but seems to work

Wow this stuff is expensive. I gave it 4 stars because it is more expensive than the prescription kidney food we were feeding our elderly cat before he passed. But it seems to be the one thing that has helped the two stinkiest kittens in the world not be quite so stinky. I'm really really really hoping that at some point they'll be able to eat regular high quality cat food.

Evie loves this

Evie was in rough shape when rescued. She needs good nutrition that doesn’t upset her system. Kitten Gastrointestinal Food has helped her grow and put on weight.

Not good for kitten w allergies

Since the vet recommended this I thought she would know the right thing to do for my very sick kitten. After buying two bags that tortured my little one, a friend had me switch to grain free and it saved him. Don’t use if your kitten has diarrhea!
