Transition Instructions

We recommend at least a 7-day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

    Perfect for a picky eater

    My senior yorkie was prescribed the dry food equivalent, but wouldn't touch it. He's extremely picky (he's been spoiled tremendously throughout his 15 years!), but once we added a spoonful of the wet food to the dry, he continues to gobble it up like a champ. So grateful that this line of dog food is helping me keep my beloved pet up and running (ok, walking!) in his senior years.

    Disappointed

    I've been purchasing our canned and dry dog food from Chewy for several months now. This is the first order in which most of the cans arrived dented. In fact, in the case of Royal Canin that we received, 23 of the 24 cans are dented at the top and bottom sides of each can. There's no way this happened during shipment; as the shipping box arrived with no dents or signs of being damaged or dropped. When paying $2.49 a can, you expect better quality.

    Unfortunately my dog won’t eat it :(

    I purchased this after all the recalls with the Hill’s Science G/D. My dog has issues with her liver and kidneys and had been on the previous food for 8 years. She won’t eat this no matter how many toppings I sprinkle on it.. I’m sad and don’t know what to do at this point as I don’t feel comfortable feeding the Hill’s food.

    Great for Magacolon

    11 year old Golden Retriever with magacolon and stones. She is a picky eater as well. Vet recommended this diet and her problems are solved. She loves it and the food is easily digestible. Highly recommend if your pet has digestive or urinary tract issues

    This food has a strange texture and doesn't smell appealing but luckily this particular dog will eat anything. Good luck if you have a picky eater. My hopes are high that this will prevent future stones.

    So far so good...

    My 15 year old Shi Tzu's blood work showed a very high elevated liver number. My vet recommended putting her on this food. So far my sweet girl has enjoyed eating it: however, I do not know if it is making a difference with her elevated liver numbers since it's only been 1 1/2 weeks & she has not had new blood work. Hopefully, it'll bring her numbers down.

    I love my food

    Because I am almost 12, my vet changed my food to MATURE. I do not like being called old, so the word mature faked me out. I do not notice a change in taste or texture. My Mommy likes the convenience of Chewy.com.

    is sandi likes it your dog will like it

    We've had to switch Sandi's food twice in a year because she is facing different issues at her age of 11 years. She has been a Royal Canin dog since getting stones years ago. Every time we have switched her food it has continued to be a Royal Canin food. She eats the food without hesitation. This particular food has a horrible smell, thus the 4 stars.....

    My dog does not like this particular formula.

    I am writing this review just to let other pet owners know that although my dog seems to enjoy many varieties of canned dog food that I have purchased for him to try, he actually walks away from this specific formula. It is a little different than others both in texture (super soft, smooth pâté) and in scent. My dog does seem to approve of the Joint Care (j/d) formula by Hills Prescription Diet, and the Sensitive Stomach and Skin by Hills Science Diet, among others. I simply recommend keeping this in mind when trying this food for the first time, as it is a little pricey, and you may or may not have success and might need to seek a different option.
