Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Recovery RS Canned Dog & Cat Food
Chloe has lost weight and this was recommended by her vet. The food is moist, soft, and easy to mix crushed meds into. She loves it and we have no trouble getting her to eat enough. She will often ask for it when she's hungry.
After reading how many cats who had not been eating were devouring the Recovery formula, I decided to try it for my 13 year old male. He had had a gum inflammation was losing weight from not eating as much as before, (treated by our vet) but was still having difficulty chewing so I hoped the soft texture of this product and the reviews of how even picky eaters were lapping it up we’re going to apply to him.....so wrong! He is now eating more of his previous foods since the inflammation is down, will have a molar extracted that has a bone spur that is irritating the gum and hopefully will be back to his happy self soon. Anyway I now have over $60 worth of Recovery cans that will no doubt be donated to our local shelter soon since neither of my two females thought it was worth eating either! Wish Chewy sold a few cans as trial packs to try out before investing so much money in 24 cans of a product that might or might not be what works for your pets! … more

These "Prescription" diets contain "No Medicine" and therefore should not need Veterinary Approval to purchase. I believe there are "Antii-Trust Lawsuits" against the Manufacturers of the "Prescription Diets" because they should not require a prescription to purchase! It is a waste of time when trying to purchase these particular foods that DO NOT contain any medications.
