Feed your adult canine companion a specific diet with precise nutrition to help support her kidney health. Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Renal Support E Canned Dog Food is highly palatable and specially crafted to help care for the kidney health of adult dogs under veterinary supervision. “E” stands for “enticing” and this recipe certainly is just that! The whisker-licking soft dog loaf helps stimulate your pup’s appetite. You can even mix it with other Royal Canin Renal Support formulas (sold separately), which come in a variety of palatable aromas and wet or dry options, so you can find the right combo for your dog! And since this diet is energy-dense, it provides nutritional support in smaller portions—this is especially important, since dogs with kidney challenges can have decreased appetites. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing that this canned dog food is low in phosphorus and contains a precise antioxidant complex, fatty acids from fish oil and targeted protein levels to help support kidney function.

- At Checkout, you'll be asked for your pet's name and veterinary clinic information so we can confirm that the item is authorized by your veterinarian.
- Place your order and we'll take care of contacting your veterinarian. If you have a copy of your authorization, you can expedite the process by uploading a scan or photo of it to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
If your clinic needs more information from you or recommends a different diet, we'll let you know immediately.
I have a copy of the authorization from my veterinarian. Can I send it to you?
Yes. If you have a paper copy of your veterinarian's authorization, you can upload a scan or photo to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
Can I use a veterinarian's authorization if it was written by a veterinarian out of state? Yes. We accept valid authorizations from anywhere in the United States, Canada, and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico.
Why do I need a veterinarian's authorization?
Veterinary diets are formulated with the precise ingredients and nutrients needed to address specific medical issues. Because these diets are formulated for medical issues, veterinary authorization is needed to advise you on the best way to give them to your pet and to monitor your pet's health while they are on the diet.
Can someone else (such as a caretaker or family member) place an order for my pet?
Yes, but we'll need them to contact us and provide the full name of the pet's owner after the order is placed. This is so the veterinary clinic can locate your pet's records when we contact them. Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com or call us 24/7 at 1-800-672-4399.
Do authorizations expire?
Yes. Your veterinarian will tell us when your authorization expires and how many refills you have before they'd like you to check back in with them.
Can I set up automatic refills? Yes. Sign up for Autoship at Checkout and select how often you need refills. We'll automatically ship your veterinary diets for as long as your authorization allows. If you run out of refills or your authorization expires, we'll automatically contact your veterinarian for a new authorization.
What if I have more questions? How can I reach the veterinary diets team at Chewy?
Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com, start a chat on Chewy.com, or call us anytime at 1-800-672-4399. We're here for you 24/7.

Finally my dog is eating!
By MrsP on Feb 21, 2021
We tried a lot of foods, including other Royal Canin Renal Support choices, but this, my little fellow will eat with gusto. It's so heartbreaking when our dogs get old and have health issues and have no appetite. My chihuahua weights 7 pounds so when he doesn't eat, it's quite concerning. I'm so happy this food is not only enticing, my boy is excited at mealtime again.

UN-Enticing
By Essential on Feb 21, 2021
Our senior bloodhound will not touch this particular food in the RC line for renal dogs. It was a painful waste of money. I have incorporated a can at a time into the homemade meatballs (organic ground turkey and canned pumpkin) that I make to give him his daily meds which I then bake. He seems to prefer chunky food-not a dry paste-type of food.

BEST for VERY picky eaters
By Lise on Jan 10, 2021
I have tried SO many foods for my picky eater after he was diagnosed with kidney disease he has hated all of them. He usually likes it for the first few days and would rather sneak and get our cats food than eat his food. I tried renal support , D, T, S, A, F. I had a tiny bit of luck with S but it didn’t last long. I started E about 3 months ago and I no longer have to hand feed it to him. Some nights he’s not that into it but eventually eats it on his own and often is just overly excited for dinner. So happy to have finally found a food that is best fit for my picky eater

Royal Canin kidney disease food
By Dogg on Jan 24, 2021
I learned that dogs with kidney disease don't smell or taste food the same as dogs without kidney disease. The one food my dog will eat is Royal Canin Renal Support E Canned Dog food. Sometimes she won't eat it right away. Then I open her mouth and put a small amount in and walk away. Usually she will decide she likes it and starts eating. If not I try later.

Very sick dog
By Pongo on Jan 24, 2021
My vet recommended this after a few sample from her clinic. This was the one he liked best. We are now 3 weeks into eating this and we can see a difference in him already. Somedays he wants us to hand feed him but if it gets him to eat that’s one more day with us.

Yummy in the tummy
By Food on Jan 17, 2021
I have a brother in kidney failure and a sister prone to UTI’s and bladder stones that are the biggest fan of dry food these days. This food gets them both to eat right away. With dry food they would either refuse to eat or take a super long time.

Dogs that need renal support
By Squirrel on Nov 28, 2020
I was informed my dog had renal problems back in Sept., 2020. The vet doctor sent us home with this can dog food. My dog eat it up. He has continued to eat it with no problems. In fact I wrap his supplement pill in it and he swallows it down eagerly. With results like this, I feel I will have my dog living with me for a good while yet.

Great product - poor shipping/handling
By Jethro on Oct 16, 2020
We have used Chewy for quite sometime, usually ordering dry dogfood. Our dog is now elderly and needs Royal Canin Renal Support. The product is excellent, but were disappointed when we opened the box and found that there were five damaged cans all on the same side that had been dropped or thrown by someone. The box was too large for the cans so the packer put a little bit of crumpled brown paper inside sort of around the nicely wrapped cans. The wrapped cans were free to move around in the shipping box as one wrapped unit, and there was nothing to cushion the can edges if the box were to be dropped or thrown.
