Do prescriptions expire?
Yes. Your vet will tell us when your prescription will expire and how many refills we can send before they’d like you to check back in with them.

Happy with this variety
By dentandabump on Jan 10, 2019
My 11 year old border collie mix was on a senior diet but her check up revealed she had a slight elevation in her kidney Chemistry. The vet recommended a prescription renal diet and this brand is what they had for sale. My picky eater definitely likes the taste of this food over the senior diet. She also seems to have more energy and pep since she started eating this dog food. I like that Royal Canin guarantees your pup will eat the food or you can receive a refund. Chewy was the only company I found that had the bigger bags. Thank you! It's more money than a regular food but worth the cost. We also use Chewy for the new joint supplements my sweet pup is now on. Chewy is the best!

Amazing product!
By Shannon on Jan 7, 2019
I cannot recommend this product highly enough. I took my then 13 year old Golden mix to the vet for a senior panel, and she noticed that his kidneys were beginning to show signs of kidney disease. We immediately switched him to this product, and at his routine visit in 6 months, and then at a year, no further damage had happened, his kidneys were holding steady and he wasn't spilling protein into his urine. He's 15 now, still going strong, and this product has been the best thing to happen to us. Also, you just can't beat Chewy's customer service!! Thank you for everything!!

This was prescribed by my vet
By julijac on Dec 13, 2018
My vet prescribed this for my senior Lab. He is at the beginning of kidney failure, and we are trying to get his numbers down through diet. My vet's office sells the food, but for a bit more than what Chewy does. Once I found out Chewy will fill prescription food, I placed an order and have it set for auto ship, which helps with cost too. My Lab is good with the (A)romatic flavor, but I heard some dogs prefer the (S)avory flavor. I noticed his bowel movements are smaller on this food. Not sure if that is good or bad, just an observation.

Our Airedale likes this food.
By brianisland on Feb 12, 2019
We have bought this food previously because our dog likes it and it does not cause allergic reactions. We would like to have Royal Canin make it in another flavor besides chicken. Perhaps lamb?

Wonderful Company
By Jami on Dec 23, 2018
We are new customers this year. Our lab had a cancerous kidney removed, so we needed renal support dog food both wet and dry. All our orders have arrived in a super timely manner and customer service has been really caring and helpful when I called for a few questions. We also loved the Christmas card.

By BJinArizona on Jan 1, 2019
This product was prescribed by our 15 year old dachshund female. She's been on it for a couple weeks and seems to be doing good with it. We expect over the long run that this food help extend her life by being easier on her kidneys and providing her the the nutrition she needs

Good For Picky Eaters!
By IrmasMom on Feb 13, 2019
My dog, Irma loves this food. She has always been a picky eater and this combined with her canned food has helped her to put on some much needed weight.

So far she likes it
By 3labmom on Nov 26, 2018
Our vet diagnosed our 11 year old yellow lab with early on-set kidney disease. She highly recommended this food for kidney health. So far, Farrah is chowing down and has not noticed the difference in this food from her previous diet of Blue Buffalo. Fingers crossed that this helps slow down the progression of her disease and we have many, many more happy years with our girl.

Our 13 year old Australian terrier has been on this food for a little over a year. He is doing great! It is so convenient to order it and have it delivered from Chewy.com, and more affordable as well.
