Feed your adult cat companion a specific diet with precise nutrition to help support her kidney health. Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Renal Support E Canned Cat Food is highly palatable and specially crafted to help care for the kidney health of adult cats under veterinary supervision. “E” stands for “enticing” and this recipe certainly is just that! This whisker-licking loaf in sauce helps stimulate your kitty’s appetite. You can even mix it with other Royal Canin Renal Support formulas (sold separately), which come in a variety of palatable aromas and wet or dry options, so you can find the right combo for your cat! And since this diet is energy-dense, it provides nutritional support in smaller portions—this is especially important, since cats with kidney challenges can have decreased appetites. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing that this cat food is low in phosphorus and contains a precise antioxidant complex, fatty acids from fish oil and targeted protein levels to help support kidney function.
Key Benefits- Veterinary-exclusive wet cat food formulated to help support kidney health in adult cats.
- The (E)nticing loaf in sauce encourages eating and helps stimulate appetite.

Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. It is recommended to follow at least a 7-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Cats will often refuse mixed diets, so we recommend adding the new food to a separate bowl from the old food. Start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Day 7, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.

Days 3-4 | 50% | 50% |
Days 5-6 | 25% | 75% |

Why should I buy veterinary diets from Chewy?
We offer competitive prices and free shipping on orders over $49. Plus, you'll save more if you sign up for automatic refills with Autoship at Checkout. Chewy experts are available 24/7 to answer any questions you have.
How do I order veterinary diets?
- Search for the diet your veterinarian recommends and add it to your cart. You can purchase your veterinary diets along with any other items you need.
- At Checkout, you'll be asked for your pet's name and veterinary clinic information so we can confirm that the item is authorized by your veterinarian.
- Place your order and we'll take care of contacting your veterinarian. If you have a copy of your authorization, you can expedite the process by uploading a scan or photo of it to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
If your clinic needs more information from you or recommends a different diet, we'll let you know immediately.
I have a copy of the authorization from my veterinarian. Can I send it to you?
Yes. If you have a paper copy of your veterinarian's authorization, you can upload a scan or photo to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
Can I use a veterinarian's authorization if it was written by a veterinarian out of state? Yes. We accept valid authorizations from anywhere in the United States, Canada, and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico.
Why do I need a veterinarian's authorization?
Veterinary diets are formulated with the precise ingredients and nutrients needed to address specific medical issues. Because these diets are formulated for medical issues, veterinary authorization is needed to advise you on the best way to give them to your pet and to monitor your pet's health while they are on the diet.
Can someone else (such as a caretaker or family member) place an order for my pet?
Yes, but we'll need them to contact us and provide the full name of the pet's owner after the order is placed. This is so the veterinary clinic can locate your pet's records when we contact them. Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com or call us 24/7 at 1-800-672-4399.
Do authorizations expire?
Yes. Your veterinarian will tell us when your authorization expires and how many refills you have before they'd like you to check back in with them.
Can I set up automatic refills? Yes. Sign up for Autoship at Checkout and select how often you need refills. We'll automatically ship your veterinary diets for as long as your authorization allows. If you run out of refills or your authorization expires, we'll automatically contact your veterinarian for a new authorization.
What if I have more questions? How can I reach the veterinary diets team at Chewy?
Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com, start a chat on Chewy.com, or call us anytime at 1-800-672-4399. We're here for you 24/7.

Only one cat will eat this
By lbcos on Feb 24, 2021 Top 250 Contributor
I currently have three elderly cats with kidney failure. I have been using KD with mixed results, and the vet suggested I try this, but only one of the three will eat it. It won't go to waste, but I really wish some of this specialty food was more appealing to cats. It's often so hard to get them to eat anyway, and I have yet to find a prescription food that anyone has ever been crazy about, and I am a very long time cat owner.

Cat Food is Great, But Service was Incredible
By JLH1 on Feb 19, 2021
Our cat has kidney issues and this is the best type of food for her. Our vet was out so we ordered from Chewy and got the delivery the next day! As a bonus - the cans were all in good condition (sometimes other company's products arrive dented to the point that we do not use them because they seem compromised). The food is a bit more expensive from Chewy than it is at our local vet but we will definitely order from Chewy again.

Cats Love This
By ksigl on Jan 23, 2021
My two senior, stage-4 renal failure, felines love this food. So nice to see them asking to be fed and then eagerly consuming this food. The loaf texture, which I mush into their dishes, seems to be key for them. I'm very grateful to have discovered a food they enjoy that supports their kidney function; this should help them gain some much-needed body mass. Also, the larger can size is nice since I am feeding two cats; they quickly finish a can in two or three feedings, so it does not dry out or spoil in the refrigerator.

Vet Diet Cat Food
By CindyF on Feb 18, 2021
My cats like this one much better then the Hills brand. They are very finicky. I had tried this one before but didn't slowly introduce to them. I do leave it out one day after opening before refrigerating, I think the cold hurts their teeth. I recommend!

Cat hates this food
By None on Jan 5, 2021
Ordering from chewy was easy and the order came very quickly. It would be nice if you sold individual cans or even 1/2 cases. Having to buy a whole case and then the cat not eating it stinks. I had gotten a couple individual cans of this from PetSmart and the food seemed a bit different. Both were Royal Canin E but there are big fat globs in the cans from the case and the texture and smell seem different. It’s really nasty stuff, a thick, fat glob filled, stinky mess. Kind of smells like burnt caramel. My cat won’t even touch the stuff. For a renal food it could certainly use more juice, gravy, sauce, whatever you want to call it. The can claims it’s in gel, but there’s none in there. Icky

O’Malley loves this food!
By Lovecats on Feb 6, 2021
O’Malley had to be put on a Renal diet but he’s doing well (thanks to his vet, Royal Canine, and CHEWY). He can’t get enough of this food and took to it immediately! I’ve got another cat “Shamus” he’s a young adult and he tries to eat the Royal Canine food ; it’s a battle but I’ve come up with ways to separate both of my boys.

My cat loves it
By Misskitty on Feb 12, 2021
I am shocked. MissKitty loves it. She cleans her dish everytime. I am so surprised and glad I changed to this brand. She is 21 this year. She was diagnoised with kidney disease 2 years ago and I am grateful for the food that has kept her going strong. So happy.

Finally, a kidney diet food my cat will eat!!!!
By DeterminedCatMom on Jan 3, 2021
I bought (and ending up gave away) multiple flavors and brands of kidney diet cat food. I found that this was the ONE food that my cat would eat. She is blind so she finds food by smell and this has enough smell she will find it and enough flavor for her to eat and enjoy it. I also found that putting the can lid back on the food, pressing it down to fully cover the food, helped it maintain its smell and flavor. Then I put an air-tight plastic lid on the can. So small amounts at a time and well covered food helped as well.

My older furry friend loves this food. It has also helped stabilize her kidney disease and she is doing really well. Chewy delivery is lightning-fast and reliable, customer service is excellent.

The Cat Who Needs It Won't Eat It - but all his friends will!
By Forza10 on Jan 12, 2021
I poured tuna juice on it, mixed it with Fancy Feast - he's not having it. George won't touch anything that has RC Renal mixed in it. The foster kittens, however, don't care what they eat and will gobble down what he leaves. Seems a waste to give renal formula food to kittens.
