Feed your adult canine companion a specific diet with precise nutrition to help support her kidney health. Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Renal Support F Dry Dog Food is highly palatable and specially crafted to help care for the kidney health of adult dogs under veterinary supervision. “F” stands for “flavorful” and this recipe is certainly just that! The whisker-licking round-shaped dry kibble helps stimulate your pup’s appetite. You can even mix it with other Royal Canin Renal Support formulas (sold separately), which come in a variety of palatable aromas and wet or dry options, so you can find the right combo for your dog! And since this diet is energy-dense, it provides nutritional support in smaller portions—this is especially important, since dogs with kidney challenges can have decreased appetites. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing that this dry dog food is low in phosphorus and contains a precise antioxidant complex, fatty acids from fish oil and targeted protein levels to help support kidney function.

- Place your order and we'll take care of contacting your veterinarian. If you have a copy of your authorization, you can expedite the process by uploading a scan or photo of it to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
If your clinic needs more information from you or recommends a different diet, we'll let you know immediately.
I have a copy of the authorization from my veterinarian. Can I send it to you?
Yes. If you have a paper copy of your veterinarian's authorization, you can upload a scan or photo to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
Can I use a veterinarian's authorization if it was written by a veterinarian out of state? Yes. We accept valid authorizations from anywhere in the United States, Canada, and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico.
Why do I need a veterinarian's authorization?
Veterinary diets are formulated with the precise ingredients and nutrients needed to address specific medical issues. Because these diets are formulated for medical issues, veterinary authorization is needed to advise you on the best way to give them to your pet and to monitor your pet's health while they are on the diet.
Can someone else (such as a caretaker or family member) place an order for my pet?
Yes, but we'll need them to contact us and provide the full name of the pet's owner after the order is placed. This is so the veterinary clinic can locate your pet's records when we contact them. Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com or call us 24/7 at 1-800-672-4399.
Do authorizations expire?
Yes. Your veterinarian will tell us when your authorization expires and how many refills you have before they'd like you to check back in with them.
Can I set up automatic refills? Yes. Sign up for Autoship at Checkout and select how often you need refills. We'll automatically ship your veterinary diets for as long as your authorization allows. If you run out of refills or your authorization expires, we'll automatically contact your veterinarian for a new authorization.

Dog Loves It!
By Lars on Mar 31, 2021
We buy this renal support dry food for our senior dog and she loves it! We've been monitoring her kidney levels and they haven't been getting worse but we're still investigating what could be causing her issues. It's reassuring knowing we have her on the right food. She loves this food though, especially when we mix it will a little bit of their wet can food too.

Royal Canin Renal Support
By Renalsupport on Jan 12, 2021
My 15-1/2 year old shipoo has kidney disease. She was eating the Royal Canin Renal Support A food and our vet wanted to switch to the F as it is lower fat. Although she liked the A version, she went nuts when I opened the bag of F and started dancing around the kitchen. Some fell on the floor as she was making me laugh and she gobbled them up. We did not have any problem transitioning her to the new flavor! Eating is always a concern with dogs with kidney disease but she has done very well on both the canned and dry Royal Canin.

Good for pancreatitis prone dogs
By AbCynth666 on Feb 1, 2021
My girl has kidney disease, but also became prone to pancreatitis. Our vet consulted with the nutritionist at Royal Canin. We were recommended to switch her from the “S” kibble to this, and her poop has been perfect. This kibble and the “D” cans are the lowest in fat, so are appropriate for her. She also loves them both! Licks her bowl clean.

Special diet for kidney disease!
By FrankfortGirl on Jan 22, 2021
I need this special diet for 2 of my little fur babies and normally purchase through my Vet. But they were out of stock and didn't know when it would be available so I ordered a larger bag from Chewy and advised my Vet, who sent in the prescription approval. I received it the next day and you can't beat that kind of turnaround service. So very pleased as this diet has really helped my little ones.

Kidney Diet
By Miababy on Feb 1, 2021
My senior pup has always been a fuzzy eater and I'm so glad she loves the Royal Canin Renal Support food. I'm so glad that she enjoys this food and while it is pricey I feel it is worth every penny, especially because it is supposed to be formulated to address renal problems of senior dogs. I highly recommend this brand and food.

Find k/d food
By Buckles on Dec 13, 2020
We usual all get the s food, which was sold out. We ordered this, in the 17lb size. Similar to the S variety, our dog liked it for the first couple days and now is less interested. I don’t think it’s a reflection on the quality-I think he’s just a older dog with kidney disease, and the loss of enthusiasm is expected. He does eat this food, for which we are grateful. He also started seeming healthier after switching to rx food. The food arrived very very quickly, and the chewy customer service was great (I needed help with my autoshipment). Rx dog food is an annoying concept considering it’s not like there is medication in this...not the fault of chewy or royal canin k/d f food. That being said chewy makes this process as easy as possible. … more

By Lupe on Jan 29, 2021
My dog is a very picky eater. And just recently got diagnosed with kidney disease. So they prescribed him this food . And my dog loves it . Plus chewy makes sure I get it on time. And they call the vets to get the prescription or just send them a copy of your prescription.

Great Food for Dogs with renal issues
By Goat on Jan 28, 2021
My dog, driver, was borderline renal insufficient. I have been using this food with him for over a year now and all his labs are normal. I know it’s not just this food, but I do think it is a part of a healthy diet for dogs with renal issues.

Great product
By NitaS on Jan 30, 2021
My Shih Tsu is on a special kidney diet and is a very finicky eater. She enjoys the renal support dry and wet foods from Royal Canin and her appetite has improved overall. I 've found that changing the mix each week prevents her from getting bored with them.
