Yes! If you have a paper copy of your vet’s authorization, email a picture to vetdiet@chewy.com, start a chat, or fax it to 1-800-619-7973.

Do I need to set up a pet profile?
We recommend it, but it’s not required. You can create your pet’s profile by logging in at Chewy.com, hovering over your account, and choosing “pet profile.”
Do authorizations expire?
Yes. Your vet will tell us when your authorization will expire and how many times we can send before they’d like you to check back in with them.
Can I set up automatic refills?
Yep! Sign up for Autoship and we’ll automatically ship your Veterinary Diets for as long as your authorization allows. If you run out of refills, or your authorization expires, we’ll automatically contact your vet for a new authorization. If we hit any bumps in the road, we’ll let you know right away.

Can Food Help My Itchy Dog?
Scratching, biting and rubbing are signs of what is happening under your dog's coat. Skin issues in dogs can be due to food sensitivities and environmental irritants.
About Food Sensitivities
Food sensitivities are reactions to normally harmless proteins in the diet and can occur with a dog of any age. A food sensitivity is determined by a food elimination trial which is performed under the supervision of a veterinarian. Your veterinarian may choose a diet that contains hydrolyzed proteins (ones that have already been partially broken down) or novel proteins (ones that your pet is unlikely to have been exposed to).

Signs of Food Sensitivity
Sensitivities to the proteins in your dog's food or environmental irritants can result in a variety of clinical signs and only your veterinarian can determine if a veterinary-exclusive diet is appropriate for your pet. If a diet change is recommended, for best results, it is very important to feed only that food while strictly adhering to your veterinarian's feeding directions.

What About Enviromental Irritants
Like you, your dog can have sensitivities to certain things in the environment such as pollens, house dust or even fleas. Your veterinarian may recommend a diet that contains optimal amounts of vitamins and nutrients which helps reinforce your dog's skin barrier.
Find the Right Royal Canin Diet for Your Dog
We have a broad-range of Dermatologic formulas for pets with food sensitives and skin issues. Talk to your veterinarian about the right formula for your pet.

HRH Clyde I, Duke of Dachshunds
By PurpleWalrusRunner on Oct 29, 2019
His Royal Highness, endorses this food more pleasurably than Science. It's more suitable for His very selective palette. The staff who serves His Royal Highness is most appreciative to have more menu options to keep the Royal Household in balance. A note from the Head Chef: some of the cans had turned to liquid with the solid food at the bottom vs. being more gelatinous. When serving, His Royal Highness only gets one-half of a can, per His personal physician. If it was too wet, there would only be 1/2 can of solid food after draining all the liquid out. Both cases were a blend of this "What kind of food consistency will it be for today?"

Recent shipment irregular
By RaeE on Oct 29, 2019
We purchase this product by the case. This most recent shipment was delivered with only 1/2 cup of actual solid food and the rest is broth. One can had only five pieces of actual food. As expensive as this product is, I am very disappointed

Dog not liking it
By ChristieK on Oct 12, 2019
1, My dog doesn't like it at all. Not to blame the brand, she does like certain flavor over others. 2, You can only buy 24 cans at a time. I spent $$$ on the box of cans and since my baby doesn't like it at all. I don't know what to do. Waste of money, hope they can sell by can, or have a bunch of flavor mixed in one box.

Highly recommend the gravy one over the others!
By Jes17 on Dec 4, 2019
My dog is a very picky eater. Due to the fact she has to be on a renal diet, I’m so lucky that she really likes this one. I tried them all, and this is her favorite.

wished they liked it
By schnauzermom on Nov 25, 2019
my miniature schnauzer does not like this formula. Wish she did, it makes meal time easier. Also having to order 24 cans is a problem, sometimes a picky eater needs a variety.

Benny is 16 yrs old and can be picky. He started this special diet a yr ago. This flavor seems to be his favorite. Good stuff. He didn't care for the E selection.

Finally a Canned Renal Support my Dog Loves!
By Rose on Oct 3, 2019
We all know when your fur baby is put on renal support it can be a challenge. I gave this to my sheltie who was previously barely eating 1/4 can of another brand and he ate the entire can immediately! He has been eating an entire can every day for almost two weeks. We are beginning to see his weight go up and energy level increase, very positive.

Good quality food my picky dog enjoys.
By TanyaJ on Sep 1, 2019
When our LuLu went into kidney failure and we had to change her diet, I bought 5 different types of Renal Support food...some wet, some kibble. LuLu preferred this formula best. Many of the others were a pate-like texture, but this had small chunks of meat in a gravy she loved. On those days when she doesn't feel like eating, she'll always lick the gravy from a spoon, and that helps me get her appetite going.

This stuff really works!
By Tammy on Aug 8, 2019
My 19 year old jack russell mix was diagnosed with renal failure over a year ago. We were having accidents constantly. I still have to be on alert but he is now able to make it outside (as long as I don't take to long) and accidents aren't a surprise to him anymore either. The only thing I don't like is that I had to buy a whole case. With his age, I would have preferred to be able to buy by the can ... you know, just in case. ;-)
