Why should I buy veterinary diets from Chewy?
We offer competitive prices and free shipping on orders over $49. Plus, you'll save more if you sign up for automatic refills with Autoship at Checkout. Chewy experts are available 24/7 to answer any questions you have.
How do I order veterinary diets?
- Search for the diet your veterinarian recommends and add it to your cart. You can purchase your veterinary diets along with any other items you need.
- At Checkout, you'll be asked for your pet's name and veterinary clinic information so we can confirm that the item is authorized by your veterinarian.
- Place your order and we'll take care of contacting your veterinarian. If you have a copy of your authorization, you can expedite the process by uploading a scan or photo of it to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
If your clinic needs more information from you or recommends a different diet, we'll let you know immediately.
I have a copy of the authorization from my veterinarian. Can I send it to you?
Yes. If you have a paper copy of your veterinarian's authorization, you can upload a scan or photo to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
Can I use a veterinarian's authorization if it was written by a veterinarian out of state? Yes. We accept valid authorizations from anywhere in the United States, Canada, and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico.
Why do I need a veterinarian's authorization?
Veterinary diets are formulated with the precise ingredients and nutrients needed to address specific medical issues. Because these diets are formulated for medical issues, veterinary authorization is needed to advise you on the best way to give them to your pet and to monitor your pet's health while they are on the diet.
Can someone else (such as a caretaker or family member) place an order for my pet?
Yes, but we'll need them to contact us and provide the full name of the pet's owner after the order is placed. This is so the veterinary clinic can locate your pet's records when we contact them. Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com or call us 24/7 at 1-800-672-4399.
Do authorizations expire?
Yes. Your veterinarian will tell us when your authorization expires and how many refills you have before they'd like you to check back in with them.
Can I set up automatic refills? Yes. Sign up for Autoship at Checkout and select how often you need refills. We'll automatically ship your veterinary diets for as long as your authorization allows. If you run out of refills or your authorization expires, we'll automatically contact your veterinarian for a new authorization.
What if I have more questions? How can I reach the veterinary diets team at Chewy?
Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com, start a chat on Chewy.com, or call us anytime at 1-800-672-4399. We're here for you 24/7.

diet dog food
By OdieCoyote on Feb 6, 2021
This product is accepted and tolerated well by my two small dogs. One is 19# , the other is 7#. I have a problem with the available sizes of bags. 6.6# seems to be the largest bag this formula comes in. It is too small for the amount of money it costs. Our previous Satiety Support changed from a round kibble to a X with a different formula. I could get it in larger bags and the cost was more reasonable. We had to change because my dogs could not tolerate it. Digestive problems. I feel cheated. Hope that RC can go back to a situation more affordable and more convient. If not these issues I would have given a five star review.

Excellent Product
By Riley on Mar 1, 2021
My pet Riley was getting really chubby and listless from being overweight. My vet put him on this prescription dog food, which he gobbles down and his weight went from 14.8 to 11.4 in 6 months. He is a much happier, energetic dog and my vet is very happy! I also love that he is enjoying his meals better and his bowel movements are more frequent and good consistency.

This Food Works
By patchat322 on Feb 10, 2021
One of my dogs is constantly looking for something to eat which led to an almost 5 pound weight gain. She is never satisfied with her meals. Since going on Satiety Support, she is doing much better and has lost 3 pounds over 2 months. After seeing the results, she will be on this food for life.

Prescription Dog Food
By Soph on Jan 27, 2021
The food does what it's designed to do... gives the feeling of having a full stomach, therefore helps limit weight gaining calories. Since my dog has been on this food, her weight has stayed consistent. The only change that I Wish for is that Royal Canine would, Please, add more Flavor to the food!

Back to normal
By Mickie on Dec 9, 2020
After being on the Satiety for years, Royal Canin changed the size of the kibble with out telling anyone. My 12 year old corgi that's lost her top molars couldn't chew the new food even with it wet. I searched CHEWY's web site and discovered they were now marketing the small kibble in a different sack...of course costing a lot more. Not Chewy's fault, but they were awesome in refunding me my money and expediting the smaller kibble sack to me. I hadn't even noticed that Royal Canin had changed the size of the dog on the sack. I'm sure there were a lot of upset customers with small dogs besides me. I'm just grateful that Chewy still had the smaller kibble in a different sack. it's working
By Mommoo on Nov 27, 2020
My Chinese Crested is obese and for health reasons needed to lose weight. Nothing worked and she was always hungry. This seems to fill her up and she actually eats it. I think it works by swelling up in the stomach, so I measure out her daily portion and split into 3 or 4 small feedings. So far she's lost 1/2 lb and that's a big deal for her.

My dog loves it, but doesn't wolf it down. She takes her time eating and the bite size bits are perfect for a small dog.
