Description

Royal Canin Satiety Support Weight Management Thin Slices in Gravy Canned Cat Food is a veterinary-exclusive wet cat food specially formulated to promote safe weight loss in overweight and obese cats. This complete and balanced diet promotes satiety, meaning it provides a feeling of satisfaction, which helps your cat feel full between meals and be less likely to beg. Its high fiber content helps reduce a cat's tendency to want to eat spontaneously throughout the day, and glucosamine and chondroitin support joint and bone health. Balanced essential nutrients ensure nutrient requirements are met, while high protein helps maintain muscle mass. And the exclusive S/O Index promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals. Remember, exercise like playtime can also help your lovable cat achieve a healthy weight. Be sure to consult your veterinarian to know what level of activity is appropriate for your pet.

Key Benefits
  • A veterinary-exclusive wet cat food that provides complete and balanced nutrition to promote safe weight loss in overweight or obese cats.

  • Provides targeted nutrients to help support joints and bones that are stressed from excess weight.
  • Formulated to promote a healthy urinary tract environment.
  • Low-fat, high-protein formula helps encourage healthy muscle mass.

Transition Instructions

Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. It is recommended to follow at least a 7-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Cats will often refuse mixed diets, so we recommend adding the new food to a separate bowl from the old food. Start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Day 7, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.

FAQ

Why should I buy veterinary diets from Chewy?

We offer competitive prices and free shipping on orders over $49. Plus, you'll save more if you sign up for automatic refills with Autoship at Checkout. Chewy experts are available 24/7 to answer any questions you have.

How do I order veterinary diets?

  1. Search for the diet your veterinarian recommends and add it to your cart. You can purchase your veterinary diets along with any other items you need.
  2. At Checkout, you'll be asked for your pet's name and veterinary clinic information so we can confirm that the item is authorized by your veterinarian.
  3. Place your order and we'll take care of contacting your veterinarian. If you have a copy of your authorization, you can expedite the process by uploading a scan or photo of it to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.

If your clinic needs more information from you or recommends a different diet, we'll let you know immediately.

I have a copy of the authorization from my veterinarian. Can I send it to you?

Yes. If you have a paper copy of your veterinarian's authorization, you can upload a scan or photo to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.

Can I use a veterinarian's authorization if it was written by a veterinarian out of state? Yes. We accept valid authorizations from anywhere in the United States, Canada, and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico.

Why do I need a veterinarian's authorization?

Veterinary diets are formulated with the precise ingredients and nutrients needed to address specific medical issues. Because these diets are formulated for medical issues, veterinary authorization is needed to advise you on the best way to give them to your pet and to monitor your pet's health while they are on the diet.

Can someone else (such as a caretaker or family member) place an order for my pet?

Yes, but we'll need them to contact us and provide the full name of the pet's owner after the order is placed. This is so the veterinary clinic can locate your pet's records when we contact them. Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com or call us 24/7 at 1-800-672-4399.

Do authorizations expire?

Yes. Your veterinarian will tell us when your authorization expires and how many refills you have before they'd like you to check back in with them.

Can I set up automatic refills? Yes. Sign up for Autoship at Checkout and select how often you need refills. We'll automatically ship your veterinary diets for as long as your authorization allows. If you run out of refills or your authorization expires, we'll automatically contact your veterinarian for a new authorization.

What if I have more questions? How can I reach the veterinary diets team at Chewy?

Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com, start a chat on Chewy.com, or call us anytime at 1-800-672-4399. We're here for you 24/7.

Helped lose and manage weight for joint problems

By Danni on Oct 1, 2021

My vet prescribed this to help my kitty lose a bit of weight due to her joint problems. She immediately loved this food. I fed her Royal Canin kitten food when she was a kitten so maybe that helped but I caught my other two cats stealing some leftovers one time so it must taste good. This definitely helped my kitty lose weight and reduce some stress on her joints. I’m giving it 4 stars because this food is only available in one flavor and my kitty gets bored of eating the same food so I have to switch between a couple other brands and this one to keep her interested.

    Cat loves it

By Crzycatldy on Aug 4, 2021

Hoping this will help our 25lbs kitty lose some weight. She seems to be slowing down and not rushing to eat the other cats food but it doesn't last very long. She is definitely hungry again by the next feeding.

Cats like Morsels Better Than Loaf

By Greg on Jun 13, 2021

We tried the Satiety Support for our 2 Maine Coons. They liked it at first but soon lost interest. Also, the large can took 3 days to use up. We tried the 3-oz cans of the morsels, and they love it. Also, I can split a can between them and not have leftovers.

Cat loves it. It has helped with her satiety, but it took some time.

By TheOfficeTabby on Apr 8, 2021

In the beginning my cat was used to scarfing up a lot of food. I still wonder if she had a binge-eating disorder, because she scarf-and-barfed all the time. I use this satiety support and a pet food puzzle. Over time she has regained trust that food will be around, and I am also noticing she is needing less and less food because it's actually making her feel full. It looks boring, but she immediately caught onto this food. I weaned her off of her old food and as I did, she picked out the Royal Canin before she had to settle for the old food left in the bowl. It wasn't too tough to convert her to the Royal Canin Satiety Support; however, it was still tough because I believe with all of the fiber they metabolize it a bit differently. So she was confused about how much she should consume even after feeling full - it took a while to take away the habit part of eating. Now that that is under control, (with the help of the food puzzle as well,) she's a happy kitty. She has lost one lb in 10 weeks and is much more active. She is acting like a kitty again at 5 years old. She still has 2.2 more lbs to lose before her first goal, which is her goal by the end fo the year. … more

Love the 3oz cans of morsels in gravy. My cats love it and I struggled to get them to eat the satiety in pate form. So happy for this change!!

    Chunk love this

By Crazycatlady on Feb 4, 2021

My cat is 20 lbs and loves to eat almost anything. He thankfully loves this food and it fills him up. I like to split a can with another cat and water it down. It stretches further and they'll still eat the kibble they need for urinary issues as well. They still have to finish remainder of old food so its to soon to see results yet. But the cat that needs it, likes it.

    Cats love it!

My 2 cats absolutely love this food. It used to be that the dry food was their favorite, now it's this canned food.

    Royal Canin Veterinary Diet

By CoalCat on Jan 17, 2021

This company exceeds my expectations with diet and non-diet cat food, wet and dry. My cat was adopted from stray, about 2 years old, and he just loves the taste of his food. He took to it right away. Recommended by 'only cats' veterinarian, and told to make a mouse to satisfy my cat, meaning to use some wet and some dry, roll together to make shape of a mouse. Crunch and wet parts will really satisfy your cat. Lost .5 pound in 6 months.
