My female cat had been obsessively biting and licking her fur to where it disappeared on her tummy and hind legs. The vet dermatologist thinks it's a food allergy (who knew that chicken was highly allergenic to cats and dogs?!) and put her on this Royal Canin rabbit diet. We started slowly, integrating the Royal Canin food into the food she'd been eating. She never had a problem with the Royal Canin rabbit and really likes it. Only downfall - SO expensive.

  • Best food ever

My cat had been having blood in her poop for about a year. I took her to the vet twice for them to tell me it was stress related. Fast forward about 7/8 months I took her to a new vet because she still had blood, they said she has food allergies ! We were prescribed this food and/or the duck kind. They gave me a couple weeks worth of samples of each flavor , she liked both! But was more fond of the rabbit. They said it can take a couple months to notice a change in her poop and about 2.5 months in NO MORE BLOOD! She's roughly 8 years old and acts like a kitten now. It's truly amazing how much this food has helped my kitty! She also has stopped scratching completely (that was an issue from the My cat had been having blood in her poop for about a year. • Didn't help

Extremely expensive, and it didn't change a thing as far as his skin condition or his itching, hairballs, nothing has changed. I will buy the Instinct Rabbit formula next time, no prescription needed and still just 1 protein, and save some money because it doesn't say prescription on the can!

  • Ginger loves this food

    By on

Ginger has had IBD for years, with regular (about every month or so) bouts of vomiting and diarrhea lasting for several days to a week or more. When it would flare up, he would lose weight, become lethargic, and all around miserable. He's been on Prednisolone for years with no improvement. My vet finally suggested a diet change and recommended on Royal Canin Ginger likes the Rabbit & Pea can (wet) food and the Duck & Pea dry food. There was immediate improvement!! It's been almost 4 months now, and has NOT HAD ONE episode of vomiting or diarrhea!! During this time frame, he's maintained a normal weight, is sleeping well, and most of all, he's happy and playing all the time again! Oh, and if you are wondering about his name - when we rescued him, the facility had him listed as a "spayed female". But after his first checkup with my vet, we found out he was a boy!! So since he was already answering to the name Ginger, we just kept it. Now we call him our Gingerbread Man, and of course, Ginger for short. But bottom line, this Royal Canin food change made a world of difference for him. We hope now to be able to ween him off the Prednisolone. Thank you Chewy.com for carrying this brand of food. … more

  • Great for picky kitty!

This diet was prescribed for my Kitty due to GI issues. She is doing much better now and eating consistently. She only likes the wet food for some reason but she has been doing very well since starting this diet.

This canned cat food arrived in less than 24 hrs. after placing the order and they had to contact the Vet. for script. I also did not have to drive to the Vet's office, put it in the car and then carry it into the house. This was delivered to my front porch........much easier since I have a walking problem.

  • Cats love it

    By on

My cats needed to switch to a novel protein diet and I was worried since they had eaten the same food their entire lives. But they took to it right away. My only complaint would be that the cans are big(gish) and must be split betweeen two days. And who likes refrigerated cat food? Not mine! Otherwise it's great. Really grateful.

  • Superior cat food diet

My veterinarian prescribed this Royal Canin PR canned food for my 16 year old cat, Sabrina, due to allergies she was suffering from. It works great for her. This was the first time however that I got my case of food from CHEWY. I could not believe that I got NEXT DAY DELIVERY. WOW! Fantastic!!

I'm not a computer or internet guy and hate to navigate through a complex maze of stuff and so I appreciate the ease with which I was able to traverse the site and the rapidity of the items came to me. Why shop ANYWHERE else when this efficient system is in place and my cat seems to love this vet recommended item for her

  • Excellent Product.

    By on

I have six cats, three of whom use Royal Canin PR and three of whom use its SO product. Both are excellent foods and my cats love them. Thus far, I have experienced no rejections of either product from the cats and Chewy.com has kindly ensured me that it will work with me to substitute the food if it is rejected. You cannot ask for better customer service. Many thanks.
