Transition Instructions

We recommend at least a 7-day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. • My cat loves this stuff!

    By on

All cat owners know the awful feeling of giving your cats a prescription food that they won't eat. Well, who knows why, but my senior cat, who is developing kidney issues, LOVES the Senior Consult. I think RC has done better in recent years at making prescription foods palatable, and in my household, this one is a winner. I was able to decrease the food she had been eating and increase the Senior Consult over about 10 days; soon it will be the only thing in her bowl. She'll even eat it out of the refrigerator as a "leftover"!

  • My cats seem to like it!

    By on

My cats are 15 now and are having the beginning stages of kidney problems. No we want to help them to help their kidneys with Royal Canin. If they need a bit of a change the dr. said to add a bit of low or no sodium chicken broth.

  • I guess it's pretty tasty for a prescription food!

    By on

My girl got a severe UTI and the vet recommended this food. I was concerned that she may not like it but she is gobbling it up so I am very thankful. When she is done and hasn't quite gotten every morsel my boy goes behind her and finishes it up. So far, her litter box habits are normal and the infection hasn't returned so I guess it is doing what it's supposed to.

  • cat is a dry food eater, and would not try it

I bought this for my cat with a gum condition, however, he was always a dry cat food eater, and he refused to try the moist.

  • Ate it for a while, then decided to dislike it. Still hoping

    By on

My cat who is on the edge of Kidney Disease was prescribed this instead of the other RC KD foods (which have a statement about not being the exclusive food for the cat). He ate it ok at first, then decided he didn't like it. It's on pause until he decides he doesn't like his current food and hopefully he will go back to it for a while. Vet said increasing wet food was the most important thing, so that's what we're doing.

  • Not a big hit in our house.

    By on

I've got very picky kitties, and this one just did not pass the test. Nothing against the food, and I'm sure that it might be a hit in some other household, so that's why I recommending it. My advice would be to try it out first, and then buy the case.

  • Feline Prescription Food

    By on

If you have finicky cats as I do, sometimes they need to have just a bit of another cat food flavor to peak their interest. Just like us, we just take a while to go for something different.

  • Dunan Loves this stuff!

    By on

My 14 year old cat Duncan had a stroke recently and we decided to treat him with some canned food as opposed to just his kibble. Boy does he love this stuff. We can't get up in the morning without him demanding his breakfast NOW! He is on the Royal Canin senior kibble for a history of urinary track blockages so it was nice we could get the same prescription in the canned version. Thanks!

  • Food wasn't tasty

    By on

This pate wasn't enjoyed or eaten. They told me to donate food and they wouldn't charge me. Tried another option but needed to add some salmon to it to make the cat eat it
