One of my cats has osteoarthritis (so sad) so his vet recommended senior consult. He jumped in the bowl as soon as I opened the bag. Because he dug in even before I mixed with his old food, he vomited later and stopped eating. I started over with mixing 25 % of senior consult with 75% of his old food One of my cats has osteoarthritis (so sad) so his vet recommended senior consult. I started over with mixing 25 % of senior consult with 75% of his old food, and slowly (over one and a half week) he got back to eating it. Smells nice and feels light. My other cat who is not supposed to eat other than her diet food (due to food allergy) steals senior consult and runs away. Oddly (maybe not appropriate to mention it here) they hate senior consult canned food. Both my cats are canned food lovers but they choose dry food when it comes to senior consult. It's been only a couple weeks to mention any improvement in his joint health, also he's taking gabapentin so hard to tell which works, but at least it seems tasty. … more

I have a 14 year old and an 11 year old. They both smelled it, made the "stinky cat" face, and walked away. One of my cats was on strike and wouldn't eat this even after two days of it being out.

Great food, but my cat hates it
By Dfwgolden on Nov 30, 2020
I’ve tried and tried to get my cat to eat this per my vets recommendation but he just will not. I can mix it with something else and he eats it but alone he walks away from it. Rather shocking considering the great success I’ve always had with Royal Canin. Now I’ve got half a bucketful that just sitting

My cats love it!
By Susie on Nov 22, 2020
I have 5 senior cats and they all love the dry senior consult. It’s on the recommended list for lower sodium and certain other dietary needs for prevalent senior issues. It’s a relief that they finally love a special diet that targets their needs. I’ll be trying the senior consult canned next. Better for them to eat more canned food than dry.

Expensive but worth it

My senior cats like this food. My male cat has urinary leakage and the food has helped along with some homeopathic medicine.

No good ingredients
By chels on Oct 16, 2020
The most expensive food on chewy and there's not a single meat ingredient in the top 6? All corn, wheat, soy, oat, pea? No chicken or turkey or anything? And this is a vetenary diet? Sickening.

Urinary problems
By Duckman829 on Aug 17, 2020
Several years ago our vet recommended Royal Canin Senior Consult Dry Cat Food due to crystals being found in our cat's urine. I was skeptical at first because of the name "Senior", as our cat was quite young at the time. However, this food has cleared up the problem and continues to keep her healthy!

Found a great new food!
By Dawn on Jun 22, 2020
I have 2 senior cats who don't like any of the senior foods I have tried. I saw this on the Chewy site, got a Rx from their vet and ordered it. Turns out they both love it!! I have only had it for 2-3 days so it is too soon to see any changes in their physical health, but I am very pleased with this product so far!
