Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Moderate Calorie Dry Cat Food
Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again.
Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Moderate Calorie Dry Food was developed to nutritionally support urinary tract and bladder health in adult cats. It dilutes excess minerals that can cause crystals and stones by increasing the amount of urine your cat produces. This diet has moderate calorie content—9% less than Royal Canin Urinary SO dry cat food—and helps your cat maintain a healthy weight. This formula promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the formation of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals to get your cat back to urinary tract health.
Key Benefits- Formulated for adult cats with urinary health issues.
- Dissolves pure struvite stones and helps prevent calcium oxalate stones.
- Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology is used to help lower ion concentration in urine, which contributes to stone formation.
- Contains 9% fewer calories than Royal Canin Canine Urinary SO dry cat food.
- Helps with peeing outside the litterbox and cats straining to go.

Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. It is recommended to follow at least a 7-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Cats will often refuse mixed diets, so we recommend adding the new food to a separate bowl from the old food. Start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Day 7, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.

How do I order veterinary diets?
- Search for the diet your veterinarian recommends and add it to your cart. You can purchase your veterinary diets along with any other items you need.
- At Checkout, you'll be asked for your pet's name and veterinary clinic information so we can confirm that the item is authorized by your veterinarian.
- Place your order and we'll take care of contacting your veterinarian. If you have a copy of your authorization, you can expedite the process by uploading a scan or photo of it to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
If your clinic needs more information from you or recommends a different diet, we'll let you know immediately.
I have a copy of the authorization from my veterinarian. Can I send it to you?
Yes. If you have a paper copy of your veterinarian's authorization, you can upload a scan or photo to the Prescriptions section in your account or your order confirmation. You can also email it to vetdiet@chewy.com.
Can I use a veterinarian's authorization if it was written by a veterinarian out of state? Yes. We accept valid authorizations from anywhere in the United States, Canada, and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico.
Why do I need a veterinarian's authorization?
Veterinary diets are formulated with the precise ingredients and nutrients needed to address specific medical issues. Because these diets are formulated for medical issues, veterinary authorization is needed to advise you on the best way to give them to your pet and to monitor your pet's health while they are on the diet.
Can someone else (such as a caretaker or family member) place an order for my pet?
Yes, but we'll need them to contact us and provide the full name of the pet's owner after the order is placed. This is so the veterinary clinic can locate your pet's records when we contact them. Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com or call us 24/7 at 1-800-672-4399.
Do authorizations expire?
Yes. Your veterinarian will tell us when your authorization expires and how many refills you have before they'd like you to check back in with them.
Can I set up automatic refills? Yes. Sign up for Autoship at Checkout and select how often you need refills. We'll automatically ship your veterinary diets for as long as your authorization allows. If you run out of refills or your authorization expires, we'll automatically contact your veterinarian for a new authorization.
What if I have more questions? How can I reach the veterinary diets team at Chewy?
Email us at vetdiet@chewy.com, start a chat on Chewy.com, or call us anytime at 1-800-672-4399. We're here for you 24/7.

Chewy to the rescue
By Kramer on Feb 2, 2021
My 7 year old male cat has been on this prescription food for 5 years. Over the course of the last 10 months (including pandemic quarantine issues) the prescription service our veterinarian uses, ran out of my cat's food 3 times and could not tell me when they would have it back in stock. I was fed up (pardon the pun) with this prescription service and started looking for alternative sources. First place I checked was Chewy.com. Not only did Chewy have the food my cat needs in stock, they made the process of obtaining authorization/prescription so easy and quick. They also kept me up to date on the status of the order. I'll never go back to using the vet's prescription service again. My 7 year old male cat has been on this prescription food for 5 years. Very Satisfied
By Blondie on Feb 25, 2021
I have trying to get this cat food locally for several weeks. I had to purchase a different brand and my cat literally would only eat it if he was starving. He has had to have a special urinary cat food since he was only two years old and the only one he likes is Royal Canin SO. I was really excited when I was able to purchase it through Chewy. Charles was happy too!

Great Product
By Anonymous on Feb 28, 2021
My vet had prescribed this product for my cat after she had crystals in her bladder. Not only has this stuff broken up and relieved my cat of crystals it's also prevented more from forming. My cat loves this food and has made her fur even more soft than it was before. Great stuff, highly recommend.

I'm glad I found this prescription food on Chewy.
By Sadie on Feb 10, 2021
My vet was out of this food and having problems getting it from their supplier because of the pandemic. I was running low and needed it soon. They referred me to Chewy. There was a slight mix up with how the my vet's office was registered with Chewy because they had to call me to get that straighten out. Then I received the food the next day. That was great.

Cat problems
By Pets on Jan 28, 2021
Supply has been an issue for my cat's food so my vet suggested I use Chewy. The only problem was that they didn't have the exact food my cat has been on and he is rather picky. Maybe they will eventually stock the Urinary Satiety SO? That is what he had been on and he liked it. This food works, it is what he needs but he doesn't like it as much. Delivery was excellent! The food arrived the next day so that was great!

My cat loves it
By Lauren on Feb 20, 2021
My cat had bladder surgery so he needs to be on the urinary diet. I’m so thankful that he loves this food! Also the vet recommended the moderate calorie because he’s a bit overweight, so I truly am so impressed that he likes this.

Thankful for this product
By Tasty on Feb 6, 2021
Vet said my cat with urinary issues needs special food & recommended Purina Pro or Royal Canin. I tried the Purina first since the vet’s office had that on hand. My cat refused to eat it. I ordered a Royal Canin & he likes it fine. Hopefully no more urinary problems.

By SugarK on Jan 21, 2021
l tried samples of different foods when my cat was prescribed the veterinary diet and this is the only one my cat would eat! He suffered from blockage and needed immediate care but since he's been on this diet he's had no more problems! Thanks Royal Canin!

Picky cat likes
By Great on Jan 2, 2021
I got this food for my cat that has reoccurring urinary infections and she devours any food. The shock is now my other cat, that won’t eat anything but one cheap brand of food, loves it. He now chooses it over his other food! She has reoccurrence every few months so only time will tell if this will keep her infections at bay.

Still Great!
By Annie on Feb 13, 2021
Annie has been on this Royal Canin Veterinary diet for over 3 years now, still loves both the wet and dry food, and has remained free of any bladder issues. Thank you, Royal Canin!
