Description

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Moderate Calorie Morsels in Gravy is a complete and balanced diet for adult dogs predisposed to weight gain. It is formulated to aid in the nutritional management of calcium oxalate and struvite urolithiasis. The formula is designed to support your dog's urinary health by supporting struvite dissolution, and also supports a healthy weight with fewer calories.

Key Benefits

  • Canine Urinary SO Moderate Calorie is a highly digestible, palatable, complete and balanced adult dog food formulated to aid in the nutritional management of calcium oxalate and struvite urolithiasis
  • Moderate calorie content, compared to Canine Urinary SO helps maintain ideal weight
  • Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology predicts the crystallization potential of urine; RSS is used to develop diets that lower the concentration of ions contributing to struvite and calcium oxalate urolithiasis
  • Increasing the urine volume simultaneously reduces the saturation of urine with calcium oxalate and struvite crystals
  • Royal Canin Urinary SO Index® promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the development of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals

How are Royal Canin diets preserved?

All of our dry diets are preserved naturally with mixed tocopherols, citric acid, and rosemary extract. Our canned diets are naturally preserved and sterilized during the cooking and canning process.

Where do the ingredients in Royal Canin diets come from?

People actually answer the phone at this company. You don't have to listen to any automated voice. My 13 year old Chihuahua mix, Jack, has stones in his bladder so the vet gave us samples of this product. Jack who had been sick, lost his appetite a bit. He loves uninary so/moderate calorie and is back on track and looking healthy. I'm continuing this food plan for my pet. The staff at Chewy's is terrific in getting my order squared away. Jack is so happy that I'm getting this for him! It's also keeping his weight down as well keeping the stones from getting larger.

  • Picky Eater, Crystals in Bladder... WILL EAT THIS ALL UP!!

    By on

My little Falkor, a 7yr old bichon/poodle/shih-tzu mix, hates food basically, and refuses to drink enough water throughout the day to keep his bladder from creating crystals which he was passing in his urine. It doesn’t help he’s little and thinks he should “save up” his urine for marking everything we pass on our walks. He used to be on G.I. food, until we realized he would inevitably keep getting bladder issues without SO food. I had him on the regular SO and he didn’t want to eat it, so I was adding water to that also to make up for his lack of drinking water. Well, we recently also found that he is getting a bit “fluffy” and that maybe using the Moderate Calorie would just be in mine and My little Falkor, a 7yr old bichon/poodle/shih-tzu mix, hates food basically, and refuses to drink enough water throughout the day to keep his bladder from creating crystals which he was passing in his urine. So much so, that he wants more and more and more... I ordered it after my vet Clinic said they can order this since they don’t carry it, but going through them would have cost almost $20 more for a case, which I would have had to buy the whole case and return if it didn’t work but they didn’t seem enthusiastic about that option. So glad I found the food here on Chewy.com!! Also, the food showed up within 2 days, awesome!! And the best part is how friendly the customer service people on the chat here were, they reassured me that for any reason Falkor didn’t like the food, I could return with free shipping back to them even!! … more

  • My dog loves this

My little Zoe is a fussy eater and has been on Royal Canin wet mixed with dry for a few years now. The vet always complained that this food tended to put weight on the dogs so I was thrilled to find the Royal Canin moderate calorie wet dog food which I now mix with the Royal Canin moderate calorie dry. Zoe has really taken 2 this food. I recommend it for any dog who was on this prescription diet.

We have a bulldog. We love him but have never had a more OCD dog and he has so many health issues when I started to write them down I had to delete because I'm thinking people will not believe all his issues. When he had the problem of not being able to urinate due to a bladder stone and the vet said this diet would help and possibly dissolve the stone without surgery I was skeptical. in addition to being sure he'd never eat it I also doubted it would work. Well he absolutely loves it. And it has helped him lose a few needed pounds as well so he seems to feel better in many ways. We go in for a follow up next week to see if it's working to dissolve the stone.... I'm hopeful. And unfortunately We have a bulldog. • Pleasantly surprised

    By on

I was getting ready to reorder my Bichons special food from the vet and decided to see if I could get it anywhere else, and hopefully save a little money. I was pleasantly surprise that they contacted my vet, got the authorization, and kept me notified each step of the way. I saved money and it was delivered free in two days to my door. Thank you! I will be looking at getting my other Bichons (that is not on a special diet) food from you also.

  • It works! Pricey!

This food is keeping my little one’s frequent UTIs at bay, but she’s gaining weight, even on the low cal version, and I think this food is very expensive, plus the large cans are too big for a 6 lb dog. Wish it came in the small cans for small dogs, especially for the cost.

  • Chewy Does It Again!

    By on

In early September, my vet informed me that my five year old,19 pound Cavashon, Bandit, has crystals in his urine. She prescribed Royal Canin Urinary SO Moderate Calorie Kibbles. I ordered a bag from Chewy and had it in two days. Bandit's response to the new food during the transition was less than enthusiastic. He ate it reluctantly and very slowly while watching his brother, Boomer scarf down the old food. Then I learned Boomer ALSO has crystals so I'm transitioning him to Royal Canin. I ordered a case of the canned version from Chewy (came to my doorstep in two days) to supplement the kibbles and both are eating well. I'll find out about its effect on the crystals in early November.

My Chihuahua has to be on this food because he gets "Crystals" in his urine. I ordered a case of this meat for him ( it's a $1.00/can cheaper through Chewy than at my pet store) and the transaction was smooth. Even submitting the prescription went smoothly. Incredibly FAST delivery! A+++++

I had been going to my vet to get this prescription diet for my dog. Chewy has saved me time and money, and the fast shipping is also super convenient! I prefer the morsels, as it is easier to give to my dog and she loves it. Royal Canin makes very high quality product.

  • Good for you and tasty, too!

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

My Vet recommend this food for my Sheltie when she found crystals in her urine on her lab tests. She said that crystals could cause kidney stones, which are painful and expensive to treat. I bought two cans to see if Zoey would eat it. She gobbled it down like she always does. I checked on-line to see who else sold it, because it was expensive. That's when I found Chewy.com. They sell it for fifty cents less a can, and deliver to your door. Great! And since then, I order everything for my Shelties from them including Veggie Dent Dental Chews, which my Dr. also recommended. Hope this helps keep your dog healthy and happy, too!
