Transition Instructions

We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

How are Royal Canin diets preserved?

All of our dry diets are preserved naturally with mixed tocopherols, citric acid, and rosemary extract. Our canned diets are naturally preserved and sterilized during the cooking and canning process.

My 10 month old puppy was struggling with constant soft stools and diarrhea. I was making expensive trips to the vet to have fluids given to him twice in one month because he was so dehydrated. We switched to this food and the difference has been remarkable! His poops are solid and he is back to his normal self!

This food solved my lab puppy's GI distress issues in three days. Super happy with my purchase, and the customer service after I accidentally ordered the wrong product. Shipping was super speedy and I'm just thrilled to have found Chewy as a resource as a new dog owner.

  • Royal Food

My toy poodle wasn’t happy about his change in diet. He enjoyed his Royal Canin poodle puppy food more. Once I added a small amount of water to the Royal Canin Gastrointestinal and sometime a little low sodium chicken broth he started enjoying it. He’s suffering from food allergies and a occasional upset stomach. This brand has tremendously helped with that issue.

  • it really worked for my dog

I don't love the ingredients in this food and the price for what's in it is cringe worthy. However, this stuff WORKS. my Alaskan malamute always had loose stools from when we got her as a small puppy, our 6th vet finally put her on this food and it's still our go to (16 months old now). Whenever she eats something and has diarrhea, this is the only food that will help her get back to normal.

Hi, When I was first told that he needed a prescription dog food I freaked out, then I saw the price I could have been blown over. I'm on a very tight, very strict budget and no idea how to afford it. Originally I was paying close to $50 per 8.8 lbs bag. I pay 35 for the exact same bag three chewy.com for $35 a bag. That's a big difference and the difference between the two covers a 16 lbs bag of cat food and I'm saving on the bag of cat food. Before I got on chewy.com I bought a 8.8 lbs at another retailer and not only did my dog King Leo love it but my cats love it to. I've gotten them broken of eating it I think.
