    Dog hates it!

By Sumac on Dec 27, 2016

We had to buy it for our dog's intestinal issues but he hates it. He will barely eat it and the bag is huge and doesn't come in a smaller size.

    Sensitive belly

    By on

My dog LOVES to eat and he will eat any food before him-doesn’t mean he should! At 10, his belly became “hyper” sensitive and I was making chicken and rice constantly. I received a sample of the Royal Canin Low fat GI food, which of course he ate. However, it didn’t fill him up and I was feeding him 4 times a day! So I went to the next kind up, the moderate, and he is definitely better on it for satiety. His poops are 90% better and very small now. I’m pleased overall with the food and what it does for my dog.

    IT'S WORKING!

    By on

Loki, my 3-1/2 yr old Staffy, had developed an irritable bowel; maybe colitis. He was often scooting after two or three squats, but didn't have diarrhea, and his anal glands were normal So after trying many feeding strategies like adding pumpkin and rice to his lamb/rice (wholesome essentials) kibble his doctor decided to put him on this prescription kibble diet. The 22 lb bag comes out to just under four bucks a pound including tax -- the only reason it didn't get 5 stars, -- because Loki just loves it (I'm sure he read the invoice), and I'm trying to develop a taste for it myself, since it's just as expensive as anything else that I eat! His stools are now completely normal after just a week, and no scooting. BUT, we'll have to see if there is something less expensive long term, because this is an outrageous price for dog kibble, and I can't find anything very exotic or expensive in the ingredients list! … more

Gastrointestinal Moderate Calorie Dry Dog Food

Great progression from the soft stuff of this same brand, to his kibble form. Cody has adjusted well to his new food.

    Tummy trouble

    By on

So far her gastro issues seem to be better but she still has gas all day every day. The Iam's low res food was the only food that helped her all around but at least she'll eat RC and isn't suffering with diarrhea.

Solved the problem! My dog loves it!

My Bernese Mountain Dog had been vomiting 3 or more times a day for a few weeks - he was diagnosed with pancreatitis. A simple change of diet to Royal Canin Gastrointestinal formula seemed to have done the trick. It is very expensive, and he needs to eat a little more than he did with his other kibble, but since it works, it's totally worth it!
