Transition Instructions

We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

How are Royal Canin diets preserved?

All of our dry diets are preserved naturally with mixed tocopherols, citric acid, and rosemary extract. Our canned diets are naturally preserved and sterilized during the cooking and canning process.

We select our ingredients based on multiple factors, including the supplier’s compliance with our quality and food safety requirements, consistent availability, and on the nutrients required to meet the dietary needs of the pet.Royal Canin is making strides towards sustainability by attempting to obtain sources of raw materials as close to each manufacturing facility as possible. In some cases, we use international suppliers, because only those suppliers can offer raw materials that comply with our quality and food safety standards.

  • Works great

My golden doodle had to lose weight and we have used the dry and wet to alternate on feeds adding carrots and green beans to bulk it up. She loves both foods and still had a great coat and tons of energy. She jumps up and down for the bowl as I am transporting it from the prep to her area. Great product. Oh and she has lost 8lbs too.

  • Great food

My Yorkie is on a diet and I was worried that she wouldn't like this food, but she ate it first try and seems to enjoy. My other dog who is an extremely picky eater has eaten this better than any of the other 15 foods I have tried. Gets a 4-star rating from Whole Dog Journal, so I am pleased!

  • Disappointed, not the product I thought it was!

I have been buying Royal Canin, Weight Care Adult in gel, in the 5.8 oz size for years for two of my dogs. My dogs have done well with this product. I noticed a larger size can on this site--Royal Canin Weight Care in gel ( adult dogs) in the 13.5 oz. size, and ordered it, thinking that it would be more economical to buy the food in a larger size. When I opened it, I noticed immediately that the food looked different. It is a different formula, with different listed ingredients! And, the larger can contains wheat gluten, while the smaller can does not....( Larger can also contains salmon, which the smaller size does not....there are also other differences...so apparently a different formula I have been buying Royal Canin, Weight Care Adult in gel, in the 5.8 oz size for years for two of my dogs. It's very confusing to have a product with the same general name with different ingredients. My review does not address the actual food, as I will continue to use the small can formula. … more

This product is good, but I was disappointed it didn't have more of a gel to it. It's hard to get out of the can.
