Farm Living Without the Farm

RentACoop

Seeking to bring a little taste of farm living to local suburbanites, young entrepreneurs Tyler and Diana Tyler started RentACoop in 2012, just a few years out of college. Originally established as a simple chicken coop rental business serving the greater Baltimore, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. area, they have gone on to add a chick hatching program and are now even manufacturing their own line of chicken husbandry supplies. RentACoop rents chickens for 4 or 12-week periods, and provides everything needed to be successful, including the coop, birds and organic feed, as well as incubators and brooders for chick-hatching rentals. These rentals provide rich educational experiences that help remind people of all ages where their food comes from, as well as the evolution of change, through a chicken's lifecycle. In addition to all the delicious, organic, farm-fresh eggs, this program gives people the opportunity to “try out” chicken ownership before making the full investment. Now being made available to chicken owners everywhere, RentACoop’s line of durable, made in the USA supplies includes feeders, waterers and much more.
