Is this a good brush for a long haired senior cat to replace slicker which hurts her delicate skin?

This brush is 6 inches long. The handle is 4 inches and the head is 2 inches.

Poor quality

Small red balls on the end of the bristles come off after a couple of uses. The small red balls on the end of the bristles are used to keep the bristles from being too sharp and scratching the cat. Good idea but poorly made. The small items can be injested by the cat and cause intestinal problems. Do not recommend!

truth is, I think I just ordered the wrong brush for my application. there's not anything wrong with this brush. I will be ordering a new one that I hope will help thin out my cat's under layer of fur.
