Description

Grooming is an essential part of keeping your pet clean and healthy. Coastal Pet Products offers a full selection of Safari grooming tools that make this task quick and easy. One product that is essential for every household with pets is a flea comb. This comb can be used to make sure flea control products are working properly. In addition, the closely spaced teeth on a flea comb allow you to examine the overall condition of the coat. Dry skin that may appear after bathing is easily detected when using this flea comb. For pets with skin afflictions, dried blood collected in the fine teeth of this comb will alert your customer that their pet may have a rash, sore or other problem.

  • Works Well

I was concerned my kids had fleas because of biting at themselves so I purchased this comb, while I didn't find fleas I realized they have some flaky skin so I'm able to take measures to remedy this. This comb also works well for removing the undercoat without causing discomfort from pulling, my GSD seem to enjoy it. The only reason I didn't give this comb a 5 star rating is 2 of the end teeth bent slightly.

  • Perfect for Flea Season

This comb came very handy this summer when both of my pups had fleas. This comb did the job pretty well, each time I ran it through my pups fur the fleas came along with it. By the end of the first session both my pups seemed relieved and after a few days of brushing along with a flea bath that week they were gone!

  • Great Quality Item

After a particularly hot summer here at the beach where we live, our neighborhood had a flea invasion. This comb works great to remove the live fleas, as well as the flea dirt, etc that comes along with the fleas. It is well-made and is comfortable to hold in your hand. Another great product from Chewy!

  • Works on cats too.

This is a great flea comb for cats. It really gets those little boogers out of their hair. I took it to the cat shelter that I volunteer for and everyone said it was better than the single row ones. The teeth are also tighter together than others we use and that gets all of the fleas. I will be ordering more soon.

  • Does the job!

My pup had fleas and I was using flea & tick shampoo and flea & tick spray. To my disappointment, within 24hrs of using either product (or both) I would find fleas on her. I read other reviews and decided to try this comb. The very first time using it I was able to remove so many fleas which a flea shampoo did not repel! The double comb works really well because most of the critters get stuck in between and they can't jump off quickly. Now I use it after every walk and in the morning before going outside. I am very happy with this comb!

  • It does what it says

I bought this comb when my dog picked up some fleas. He is a long haired chihuahua and this goes through his hair very well. His underhair is very fine and the fleas got tangled in his hair so I had to do some wiggling and back combing to get the flea but it did trap the fleas in between the rows for me to dispose of in a bowl of water. I use the comb to brush his hair regularly and check him for fleas. I am very happy with this purchase.

  • Cats Actually Like This!

    By on

I have had a really great flea comb for years. Metal and the tines were just the right distance apart. . . . . until now. Don't know where it went :{ !!!! Sooo, purchased one of these double row combs. They work as well or better than my old comb--so I bought another one! The cats seem to like this comb as it doesn't dig in as easily as the others and is very effective at removing the little buggers.

  • Not just for dogs!

This is the second one I've purchased. With seven indoor kitties, one of just about anything is never enough! I use it in conjunction with their flea treatment and this comb works great. We've had a battle with fleas this year and I just love how this comb catches them so I can drown them in a jar with soapy water. Sounds cruel but having them on my cats is more cruel.

Not so good on long haired dogs or cats but it works great on short haired one. I would buy it again.

  • Flea Magnet!

I love this flea comb. I have had cats for almost 10 years, but never got one of these. I always thought that if my Furminator brush couldn't nab fleas (which it couldn't), then these wouldn't be any more successful. Boy, was I wrong. This is a miracle comb. Just a few swpies and you will find fleas trapped between the double rows. I would definitely recommend the DOUBLE ROW comb over the single row comb because the fleas get trapped between the rows, which will give you enough time to dispose of the fleas. Here are the key areas where fleas tend to congregate: 1) The top of their back, just in front of the tail, 2) The armpit areas and 3) The underbelly near the hips. By the way, you really need a system of how to get rid of the fleas once they get trapped in the comb, otherwise, they will jump right back on your cat. What I do is keep a plastic bag nearby and brush my cat near a good overhead light. After a few good swipes, turn the brush upside down under the light to see if you have trapped a flea. If you see a flea, then put the brush in the bag and tap the comb so the flea falls out in the bag. You can then do with the fleas whatever you wish. By the way, if you squeeze them you can actually hear them POP and you will see a small spat of blood. (That is actually your cat's blood that the flea sucked out of your poor kitty.) Keep in mind though, this will not kill the flea. They will keep on moving. Pretty gross. … more
