Description

Grooming is an essential part of keeping your pet clean and healthy. Coastal Pet Products offers a full selection of Safari grooming tools that make this task quick and easy. One product that is essential for every household with pets is a flea comb. This comb can be used to make sure flea control products are working properly. In addition, the closely spaced teeth on a flea comb allow you to examine the overall condition of the coat. Dry skin that may appear after bathing is easily detected when using this flea comb. For pets with skin afflictions, dried blood collected in the fine teeth of this comb will alert your customer that their pet may have a rash, sore or other problem.

  • It does what it says

I bought this comb when my dog picked up some fleas. He is a long haired chihuahua and this goes through his hair very well. His underhair is very fine and the fleas got tangled in his hair so I had to do some wiggling and back combing to get the flea but it did trap the fleas in between the rows for me to dispose of in a bowl of water. I use the comb to brush his hair regularly and check him for fleas. I am very happy with this purchase.

  • Not just for dogs!

This is the second one I've purchased. With seven indoor kitties, one of just about anything is never enough! I use it in conjunction with their flea treatment and this comb works great. We've had a battle with fleas this year and I just love how this comb catches them so I can drown them in a jar with soapy water. Sounds cruel but having them on my cats is more cruel.

  • Does the job!

My pup had fleas and I was using flea & tick shampoo and flea & tick spray. To my disappointment, within 24hrs of using either product (or both) I would find fleas on her. I read other reviews and decided to try this comb. The very first time using it I was able to remove so many fleas which a flea shampoo did not repel! The double comb works really well because most of the critters get stuck in between and they can't jump off quickly. Now I use it after every walk and in the morning before going outside. I am very happy with this comb!

  • Cats Actually Like This!

    By on

I have had a really great flea comb for years. Metal and the tines were just the right distance apart. . . . . until now. Don't know where it went :{ !!!! Sooo, purchased one of these double row combs. They work as well or better than my old comb--so I bought another one! The cats seem to like this comb as it doesn't dig in as easily as the others and is very effective at removing the little buggers.

  • Best Flea Comb for me

I have an Old English Sheepdog, he gets fleas it seems every summer. This comb is the best. It gets the fleas stuck in two rows, not just one, & also gets double the amounts with the double row. Love this comb!

  • Flea Magnet!

I love this flea comb. I have had cats for almost 10 years, but never got one of these. I always thought that if my Furminator brush couldn't nab fleas (which it couldn't), then these wouldn't be any more successful. Boy, was I wrong. This is a miracle comb. Just a few swpies and you will find fleas trapped between the double rows. I would definitely recommend the DOUBLE ROW comb over the single row comb because the fleas get trapped between the rows, which will give you enough time to dispose of the fleas. Here are the key areas where fleas tend to congregate: 1) The top of their back, just in front of the tail, 2) The armpit areas and 3) The underbelly near the hips. Fleas like warm I love this flea comb. I have had cats for almost 10 years, but never got one of these. By the way, you really need a system of how to get rid of the fleas once they get trapped in the comb, otherwise, they will jump right back on your cat. What I do is keep a plastic bag nearby and brush my cat near a good overhead light. After a few good swipes, turn the brush upside down under the light to see if you have trapped a flea. If you see a flea, then put the brush in the bag and tap the comb so the flea falls out in the bag. You can then do with the fleas whatever you wish. By the way, if you squeeze them you can actually hear them POP and you will see a small spat of blood. (That is actually your cat's blood that the flea sucked out of your poor kitty.) Keep in mind though, this will not kill the flea. They will keep on moving. Pretty gross. … more

  • Sturdy Toothed

Excellent comb because the teeth do not bend out of alignment causing pulls. The double rows are a more gentle surface to the skin and do a great job of removing the shedding undercoat as well as burs and fleas.I hesitated with this purchase because I have carpal tunnel and wanted a larger round handle. I don't notice the difference.

I not only love this comb for getting fleas off, but it is great for getting all the loose hair from the kitty too. It does a great job. Thanks Chewy.
