Innovative safety stop greatly reduces risk of injury.
Holding the paw firmly, trim top of nail with a single stroke. Be careful to stop short of the quick, the blood vessel inside the nail. Use safety stop to prevent trimming nails too short. I've been a Labrador-mom for many years, and have tried a variety of different nail trimmers (including the rotary-type), and so far these are my favorite. I'm on my second pair. I use the large ones. I like that they're stable in my hands and nice and sharp. They didn't last forever though; the blades became dull after a year or two, so I replaced them with the same ones. I did shop around first to see if there was anything better on the market, but came back to these with no regret. Even my 12-year old will use them on our lab.

I have 2 medium-sized dogs ( a border collie mix and an Australian shepherd mix. Both about 35-40 lbs) and a small dog (a pug mix. She is about 14 lbs). I can usually use the same clippers for all of them. These are solid and well made. The spring in the center is heavy duty and I feel like they will last and stand up to many trims.
They are also sharp.
Unfortunately, they are just too big for my smaller dog and even for my Aussie mix. I am hoping that the smaller-sized clippers from the same manufacturer will do the trick for my pack. I'll certainly keep these as an extra pair.
Wonderful clippers for tough nails!

These clippers have held up for a year and a half now with no faults!
Coming from someone who had a dog with the toughest of tough nails, These cut through without any issue (Though I am a bit weaker than average, so I had to use some brute strength to grasp the handle).
I do recommend positive interaction and reinforcement with the clippers first though! Some dogs can get naturally more scared of them if you accidentally nip too close and draw blood on their nail, so make sure to associate good things with the clippers for your pup!
My dog hated them

I’ve used this brand before and haven’t had any issues. But these specifically were horrible. They didn’t cut properly so they were painful. I had to stop after just trying it on two nails. I’m not sure if it’s because the weren’t sharp enough or the angle on them is wrong, but I couldn’t use them anymore.
Great nail Clipper

We recently purchased this for our dachshunds, who have big, thick nails. The large dog nail trimmer was perfect for them. The cuts are easy (easier for nervous little dogs), and pretty clean. The nails are not crushed, but are cut at an angle. I really like this clipper.
Good tool for beginners

My husband and I finally tried this nail trimming tool on our 10-month old puppy. He's a big boy, 54 pounds, and we've been paying for his nail trims every month. We only got three toes this morning but we will persevere! It does make a loud noise, since his nails are thick. We will continue, as this trimmer makes it easy even when the dog doesn't want you to do it.
big chop lol
on Aug 10, 2021
So last night I decided to start conditioning my dog with these clippers and he let me do 2 nails before he grew restless. I would give him a treat and then do a big chop (or just a normal chop but that's what I call it) and we kept going until he wanted to stop. I did a good job for my first time and will be working more with him tonight.
Smooth and Easy

At first I was so nervous about cutting my dogs nails by myself for the first time but her nails grow so fast I have to do some maintenance between grooming appointments. This was so easy to use and has a guard so I know I’m not accidentally going to cut the nail too short. But If you are an experienced nail clipper then you can move the guard down if you wish as well! Definitely recommend!

This is so helpful for our 3 large breed dogs. When they were puppies it was easy to use regular people nail clippers as they grew this was no longer an option. Easy to use but to be fair I do work a vet clinic.
Best clippers ever

I got these for my medium sized dog with black nails. He didn't love getting his nails cut, but these are nice and sharp and made clipping easy. When I take them out now he actually gets excited to see them. You can go in and make fast small clips with no problem. Very easy to use and I can still easily see the underside of the nail when I need to.
