Brush in the direction of hair growth, using gentle strokes. Work on small areas, parting the hair in sections. When pad becomes full, remove hair by pressing buttons on back of pad. Hair will be pushed off the pins.
I bought this for my 65 pound Sheepadoodle. I have owned a slicker brush from JW for a few years that I liked but realized it was advertised as a small size and for cats, but it worked well! That brush got gross after the years so I decided to get this since I love this brands other brushes. I have to say it’s just ok. My dog doesn’t seem to like it and acts like it’s hurting him so I’m only using it on his tail. The bristles do feel somewhat sharp to me so I may just keep this on hand and repurchase my cat slicker.
I have used this brush for 12 years. It really gets the tangles out and it is very easy to get the hair off of it. Had to buy a new one because the old one was breaking but not bad for 12 years use every day.
I love this brush! It glides easily over our dogs' coats and the self-cleaning button works really well. Most importantly, our dogs love it too. With previous new slicker brush, both dogs left the grooming session - which they have never done before. With this slicker, they stood still and "asked" for more. Made my day! Thanks Safari for such a great brush, and thanks Chewy for making it so easy to obtain everything I need - and other stuff just for fun - for my pets!
I have a 9 lb shih txu and even though I ordered a small one. Its still to big for him and he's afraid of it.
I use the brush on my dog and also on my rugs and the hair is easily removed from the bursh
My dog is about 18 pound chi/ terrier mix. Quite chunky and has short hair. He is not balding and does not have thin hair. I used this twice on his back. I did not press hard and he screamed each time. It says recommended for all dogs / types Etc . Or I wouldn’t have bought. Clearly not. My large dog with a thicker soft coat didn’t mind it and the release button is good but it is far too small to use on her. Be very careful on what time of coat as it clearly hurt and scratched him
We have tried several different brushes to brush our border collie and this brush is the BEST. The fine wire bristles are truly gentle on his fur and gather enormous amounts of fur. That fur is easily removed off the brush and I can skip a day of vacuuming when I get it off him first.
Cheap quality plastic but works well and super easy to clean
My domestic mediumhair loves this! We previously had a small hand me down slicker brush which worked but it was uncomfortable to use. Upgraded to this and it's perfect. He loves the sensation of being brushed and I like the nice handle and ease of popping out the fur he sheds. I've tried this on my shorthair five-month-old kitten but she's not really shedding yet and has a different hair texture so the brush doesn't do anything for her. Maybe when she grows up, we'll see. Either way this is great for the mediumhair
I bought this brush in a small size, and it works well on the long hair around the ears of my tiny chihuahua, She is not keen on being brushed but tolerates this. If you have a larger dog, you definitely will need a larger brush than this one. Easy to clean out hair.
