This couldn’t be any better! I use this on my Irish Doodle and Schnoodle and it works through the curls and gets right to the undercoat. Breaks up the curls and for having dogs that don’t shed, I am amazed by the amount of hair this picks up without any discomfort to my babies. They both love getting brushed with this. Exactly what I was looking for!
Excellent grooming tool

I had been advised not to rely solely on a furminator as it takes off too much of the coat. I have one golden with very little undercoat and another with quite a bit. I can tell it works well because it removes very little from the no-undercoat dog, and quite a bit from the other. I highly recommend this grooming too.
No better than my fingers

Bought this for my 2 Australian Shepherds to get to their undercoat. The reviews were great. It may be great for German Shepherds due to reviews but this really is nothing more than a wide toothed comb. There is nothing to it that would thin out my Aussie's coats, never removed any fur. I think it feels good to them but my girl's coats just laugh at this grooming tool!
It works well but it got rusty in a month! :(

I really like this type of rake. It works well for my Husky/German Sheperd and I use it for the first round of grooming before the Furminator undercoat deshedding brush for detangling. However, I wouldn't buy this brand again because it got rusty in less than a month. I used it maybe 6 times and even if there is a black coat over the pins there are rusty at their bottom.

Received this brush and have really enjoyed using it. My dog seems to like it as well as she lays on my lap while I brush her out. I would buy this again and would highly recommend it to anyone. It just works great on my mini goldendoodle.
You’ll live it

Bought this for our German Shepherd Mix because she sheds that undercoat frequently between grooming appointments. If used properly, this is a game changer!! It’s also very gentle on her skin...like she’s getting a nice back scratching
Attention all GSD owners!
on Dec 12, 2020
Ok if you have a GSD, you actually need this, you just didn’t know it. But I’m here to tell you this thing is a miracle worker. I currently have a 7 month old shepherd who’s blowing his coat like crazy. A regular brush just wasn’t doing it because it couldn’t reach his undercoat. This rake gets deep down & he actually seems to enjoy brushes now.
best undercoat brush

One of the best brushes I’ve tried for my husky malamute mix, although at first it doesn’t get much hair over time it starts picking up more and more. I would recommend a pin brush as well to pair with it to get the most hair.
Safari undercoat rake

The Safari undercoat rake is wonderful. I have three Aussie's and I own several brushes, but the undercoat rake is my favorite, it really gets the job done!!!

I think this undercoat rake is fine. It’s not actually the tool I needed though. I should have just bought a good brush, but I wanted to try it. Come to find out Lilla’s fur is not that deep.
