FAQ

Can I sharpen my Scaredy Cut blades?

In mid-2017, Scaredy Cut began manufacturing without a serrated blade because it cuts thick fur more easily.

So check your clipper: does it have a serrated lower blade? If it does, you may sharpen the upper blade with a traditional shear sharpener. Scaredy Cut does not recommend sharpening the serrated blade.

If the lower blade is not serrated, then Scaredy Cut encourages you to sharpen both blades.

Do I need to bathe my pet before grooming?

Not at all. Dirty fur will dull blades over time and so our professional advice is to bathe your pet first. However, Scaredy Cut believes that your pet's comfort and happiness is ALL that matters, so groom that dirty fuzzball whenever it's a good time for them.

    Not sharp at all

    By on

I bought these to trim the fur from my Golden Retrievers paws. They simply are not sharp enough to do the job. The fur underside of the paws moves away as you cut, even though the blades are cerated. Along the edge of the paws same issue. I have small hands but these are difficult to handle. I tried using these twice, same result. I do like the rounded tips, but am very dissatisfied and can not recommend these to others.

    Love these Scissors

    By on

Love; these scissors cut smoothly and fit easily along paw pads for a good cut. Once I started trimming Jax’s paws he relaxed and grooming his paws were quick.

    Well Groomed Kitty

    By on

One of my cats has medium length fur and gets it knotted and can't groom it out himself. These tiny trim scissors with blunt tips works perfect. Be careful because they are very sharp and can cut skin with no problem so, don't get too close to the animals skin.
