As a reminder, especially to pregnant women and immunosuppressed persons, cat feces can sometimes transmit a disease called toxoplasmosis. Therefore, always remember to wash hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter. For further information, consult your doctor. Unused cat litter poses no toxoplasmosis threat. Do not use this product as a traction aid because product becomes slippery and slick when wet.
Additional Instructions
If you've recently switched to Scoop Away® litter, your cat may need a little time to adjust. You can make the transition easier by sprinkling a thin layer of Scoop Away® clumping cat litter on top of the litter you normally use. Once your cat has acclimated, empty your litter box completely and refill it with Scoop Away® litter.
I have been using Scoop Away cat litter for many years. The new formula is absolutely horrible! I have many cats. The old formula was very easy to scoop and clean. The new formula takes forever to scoop and is impossible to clean! It is as many described, gray sludge that sticks to the bottom of the litter box. As such, I will no longer be using this litter. I hope the company takes heed to all the negative reviews and goes back to the old formula.
I bought this as the price was very reasonable considering you are getting 42 pounds! It is a bit dusty compared to others I have used...but it does clump hard and keeps odors at bay. With three cats I need a good value! Nice that you don't have to lug it home and it shows up at our door too! I did tell the UPS driver I appreciated his efforts.
We used to love this cat litter, but there has been a change in formula in the last few months. It is sticky, dusty, and disgusting in the box after a cat pees. I literally have to scrape the goo off of the cat box when I clean it. We are changing name brands, but I guess I will just have to try others because I don.t know a good brand.
I love this product because it keeps you from going to the store every week because I have four cats this product actually keeps the smell down a lot more than some of the others, plus it is pretty amazing to have so much at one time yet in 4 smaller packages so it is not so heavy at one time I love that it is delivered to my door and I can also get it on auto ship so I don't have to mess with it.
I wanted to warn people regarding the possibility of your cat developing a skin sensitivity called Hyperesthesia from this Scoop away cat litter. Two of my female cats developed this condition after I started using this cat litter. I noticed the strong smell and dust just engulfed my house and I use a air purifiers. My cats developed an agitation when I touced their backs by their tails when petting them. I stopped using this litter and their condition went away. So whatever they use in this litter for a fragrance affects some cats. My house no longer has this dust and smell everywhere either. It maybe cost effective but not worth the misery it causes people and the cats.
I have been using Scoop Away for over a decade and have absolutely loved it, until now. Like another person said previously, they have a new clay supplier and this new version of their litter is absolutely horrible. Dark Grey color, very fine grain, and does in fact turn to concrete sludge instead of clumping. I don't know what to do because every other litter I have tried previously has given my male cat UTI's. PLEASE PLEASE GO BACK TO YOUR PREVIOUS LITTER FORMULA!!!! I'm devastated.
It used to be a great product, but something changed in the most recent purchase. It has been reformulated into something terrible. As others have noted the product doesn’t actually clump, it turns to a thick gray sludge after the cat pees, and then literally needs to be ice scraped from the box. I’m irritated honestly that I bought another case of this, I don’t even want to use it because it’s so terrible to deal with
Don't waste your money on time consuming and stressful litter scraping! I noticed a color and consistency change the last time I purchased this litter in early April 2023 and the performance has gone down hill big time! This litter turns cat pee into sludge/thick paste that you literally have to scrape off the sides and bottom of the litter box, especially frustrating in corners. The new formula does not form easy to scoop clumps. The new formula deserves a 0 star review rating because it's not effective.
At least once a day my cat would end up with this in their paws. Like a ton of gooey concrete that only a bath could remove. I scoop daily and haven’t had this issue with tidy cat. I liked that it came in smaller bags but not enough to put up with daily cat baths
The new formula is a dark grey fine-dirt like texture that forms into mud-like clay when the cat uses it. And it is not scoopable at all. I contacted manufacturer (Clorox) and was told a new plant in Martinsburg, WV was producing the kitty litter using locally sourced materials. I was told it was safe and the same product. It is NOT the same product and now I have doubts about its safety. I'm hoping Clorox (parent company of Scoop Away) is aware of the problem and has taken steps to remedy the problem.
