Keep contents and packaging out of reach of children and pets. Seek medical help in case of accidental ingestion.

- Your cat's age, health, and diet also affect her waste. You might need to replace the litter tray more often if your cat is under 6 months old, is over 10 years old, has health problems, or eats cat food high in crude fiber, ash, and byproducts.
- Never add litter to your ScoopFree Litter Box or use another brand or type of litter. The crystal Litter in the disposable litter tray is formulated specially for ScoopFree litter boxes.
- ScoopFree litter trays can be used by themselves as portable, disposable litter boxes when you're on the road with your cat. Manually scoop the waste under the waste trap flap or replace the tray when needed. Mix the litter daily to reduce odors.
Number of Cats | Each Tray Lasts (Days) | Trays per Month |

1 | 20 - 30 days | 1+ trays |
2 | 10 - 15 days | 2+ trays |
3+ | 7 - 10 days | 3+ trays |
Crystal Litter Maintenance
- Place the ScoopFree litter box away from areas of high humidity, such as bathrooms, showers, and basements. Since the crystal litter controls odor by absorbing moisture, having extra moisture in the air will shorten the life of the tray. Try placing it in a room with moving air to pull away moisture, like a room with a fan.
- If your cat consistently urinates in the same spot, try stirring the crystals occasionally to help distribute saturated crystals.
- Cats with diets that are high in crude fiber and ash content will produce more solid waste, which can prematurely fill the waste trap. Consider changing your cat’s diet to a food with no byproducts or fillers.
Additional Instructions
- Only dispose of used cat litter in trash. Do not flush, bury or dispose of it outdoors, in gutters or storm drains to avoid environmental contamination.
- Not for internal use. Not meant for use as compost or as a traction aid.
- Store in a cool, dry place. Product filled by weight; some settling may occur.
Transition Instructions
Most cats adapt easily to ScoopFree boxes and use it within a week. If your cat needs help adjusting, try these tips:
- Leave your cat's old litter box next to the ScoopFree box.
- Add a few handfuls of your cat’s old litter to the ScoopFree litter tray and add a few handfuls of the ScoopFree crystal litter in your cat's old litter box.
- Stop cleaning the old litter box. As the old litter becomes more shallow and dirty, your cat should start using the cleaner ScoopFree box.
- If your cat is startled by the raking noise, turn off the ScoopFree box and scoop waste manually for a few days until your cat is used to the new box.
If you have a kitten under 6 months old, we recommend leaving the box unplugged and scooping waste manually. You can start getting her used to using the litter box with these tips.
- Kittens have a natural reflex to use the bathroom after eating, playing, or napping. Put your kitten in the litter box after these activities to help her associate the litter tray with the instinct.
- Place the litter box away from the food and water bowl. Cats prefer not to use the bathroom near where they eat and drink.
- Put the litter box in a quiet, visible place where she can get to it quickly. Getting all the way across the house to find the litter box could result in accidents. The location should also be safe and quiet so your kitten won't be startled or distracted.
- Keep the box clean. Scoop waste often and change the litter tray every few weeks. Cats and kittens prefer a clean box.
- Stir the litter crystals once a week to distribute saturated crystals. Kittens pee more often than adult cats, so the litter box will get dirty more quickly.
What are ScoopFree litter crystals made of? The blue crystal litter is made of a silica gel. The crystals are non-toxic and perfectly safe for people and animals if eaten accidentally. Silica gel is an inert substance that’s mined from the earth. A derivative of silica gel is used in many powered drinks and soups as an anti-clumping agent. If your pet eats a couple of crystals or small bites of litter, he should be perfectly fine. Just provide your pet with water. The crystals will pass through his system. However, you should make sure your pet doesn't eat a large amount of litter. Contact your vet if you notice any changes in your pet's behavior or health or if you suspect your pet has eaten more than a few bites of any type of litter at one time.If your dog often tries to eat your cat's litter, you can take extra steps to keep your dog out of the litter box.
Can I reuse the litter tray by throwing out the old litter and adding new litter? Using the litter tray for more than 30 days per cat may result in urine leakage and tray breakage.
How big are the litter trays? Litter trays are 22” x 14-1/2” x 2-1/2”. The usable litter bed area is 14” x 14”. ScoopFree Free litter trays do not include lids and can be nested, allowing them to be stored in a smaller space.
How do I change the litter tray? When the litter is saturated or the waste trap is full, simply place the cover on the used litter tray and throw it away. Replace the used litter tray with a new one.
How can I make the trays last longer? ScoopFree litter trays won't last forever, but each tray can give you up to 30 days of freshness without scooping. Have at least 1 litter box per cat. Many experts recommend having 1 litter box for every cat plus an additional litter box. 3 cats can use the same ScoopFree litter box, but you'll have to replace the trays more often and you might see litter box bullying.

Take a Break From Litter Duty
PetSafe's ScoopFree Automatic Litter Box lets you take a break from scooping—for good. This self-cleaning system rakes through the litter, pushing waste into a covered trap at one end of the tray. Odors and liquid waste are absorbed by the quick-drying crystal litter. And you can rest easy, because your days of endless scooping are over.

Fresh and Clean Every Time
Every time kitty needs to go, she'll step into a dry, freshly cleaned litter box—the kind cats prefer. The motorized rake sweeps new waste into the covered compartment, waiting 20 minutes after your cat uses the box so she won't be startled. Because it's automatic, the ScoopFree box stays clean for weeks at a time. One tray lasts 20-30 days before needing to be replaced, for single-cat homes.
3 Simple Steps

1. Load It
Lift the box and slide a disposable litter tray underneath. It only takes a minute!

2. Leave It
ScoopFree automatically rakes the waste into a covered trap, so you can relax.

3. Toss It
Replace the soiled tray every few weeks with a fresh one.
Fast-Drying Crystals for Odor Control
The blue silica crystals in each disposable tray are five times more effective at odor reduction than clay or clumping litters. Liquids are trapped by the leakproof liner, and the crystals work fast to absorb them on contact. A dry litter box is less prone to bacterial growth—and the smell that comes with it.

What happened?
By litter on Feb 21, 2021
I started to think it was just my cat like maybe he was just starting to use the litterbox more often. I never had an issue with smell with this and that's why i LOVED it because my kitty has foul BMs (all his 11 years of life) this thing saved my nose! but within the last 4 months i have noticed the smell of urine being stronger sooner. I would get over 70 uses out of it (according to number shown on litter box) but now we get to about 50 and the scent is so unbearable i have to change a tray out. these things are expensive so that really sucks! did the formula change??

pricey and inefficient
By katc on Feb 17, 2021
I wanted to love these trays and the automatic box for them. Worst $300+ I’ve ever spent. I have two cats and I had to put in a new box every 2 days. I bought the reusable one and every crystal litter you can imagine. Still horrible. And extra gross because I had to wash a box every two days. The smell was horrible. I went back to a normal box with the works best cat litter and scooping 2x a day and it’s way better. Sorry, don’t recommend at all unless you like spending $100 a week in litter.

Pay a little more for superior ease and convenience
By TTut on Feb 19, 2021
I was super hesitant to invest in this system, mostly due to cost and because I feared technology would break. My household has always been multi-cat, most recently and consistently two cats. Daily scooping became a low priority due to several reasons, unfortunately, and I decided to give it a try. So far SO GOOD! It's really easy to clean and replace litter (I would stay away from the reusable tray because at that point, why bother? I've tried it. You still have to actually clean that tray). With two cats we do change the pans about every 14 days. I find I can stretch that with a little stir and solid waste removal during that time - like maybe once, so it's nothing like daily. With two cats we do change the pans about every 14 days. I find I can stretch that with a little stir and solid waste removal during that time - like maybe once, so it's nothing like daily. I am able to keep the two pans away from the main area of the house so odor isn't much of an issue, but when I notice it, it's usually because I am approaching or have gone past that 14 day mark. The product notes the suggested change times based on number of cats, their health, and age, so I do think you have to see what works for you. Mine are 11 years old and even though they have outdoor space, I find they urinate a lot more frequently than they used to and my one cat refuses to poo outside - lol. As noted in other reviews, set the timer to rake for as long of a time after they go as you can bear - I have mine at max. This helps ensure the solid waste has had time to solidify more so it rakes up better and reduces the risk of less solid solid-waste from sticking to the rake. I really like this system. It is a cost that I am happy to pay for ease of use and convenience. For the time in our life right now, this works for us. I would agree that the blue crystals seem to do a better job at odor control than the lavender - no idea why that would be but I've seen others comment on that as well. We are 2.5 months in and and so far very pleased. If you are at least willing to spend the money and try something like this, this is definitely worth a shot. Hope it works for you. … more

Sticks to Paws
By Kitties on Feb 14, 2021
Litter seems to stick excessively to my cats paws, gets everywhere, hurts when stepping on the crystals. The amount of sweeping and vacuuming I have to do makes up for the not scooping, I’d rather just scoop regular litter. Since the timer is 20min, everytime my cats did #2, could smell it across the apartment until the box did the cycle, so the crystals don’t really mask any smell. Stopped using and went back to a regular box.

very disappointed
By kbug126 on Feb 7, 2021
I am very disappointed with this purchase. I purchased this a few weeks ago and replaced my first round of litter and the tray. It is a great deal for the 3 trays of litter but I feel like it hasn’t held up like the first one I got with the litter box. The smell is not very hidden at all anymore and the litter is already turning yellow and it hasn’t even been a week yet. I’m definitely not pleased after spending this much and it not keeping the odor at bay.

Easy to Use
By Value on Feb 13, 2021
These are quick and easy to set up in the automatic litter boxes. The usual bad smell doesn't stink much until it is time for the box to be changed, and if you're procrastinating on that it will not be pleasant to walk past. Never have had any issues in the nearly 2 years we've used this product. I wish there were a two pack, as we only have 2 auto-boxes, but nothing wrong with an extra.

Nice litter box and litter
By pearl on Mar 2, 2021
Self cleaning litter box is an improvement over conventional ones. Still need a mat to collect litter thrown out by our cat. Box is handy, but I recommend putting it in a trash bag for disposal. Box is not sturdy enough to move easily and opened when I put it in the garbage can.

3 Cats and Thrilled!
By Mockstar on Jan 10, 2021
We had 2 cats and 2 litter boxes and because my house is so smalle you could not control the odor, even with every day changes. Not to mention all of the litter that we had to schlub home and then dispose of. When 3rd Kitty came along It was time for a drastic change. So I dropped a $100 on this litter Box in 50 bucks on 3 litter trays about 45 days ago.WOW! WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Except for seeing there for a little butts around the house you never know we had cats anymore. No odour much cleaner and convenient because it comes right to my house!

Stinky stinky!
By CalicoMama on Jan 11, 2021
This is somewhat of a review of the Pet Safe automatic litterbox as well, but I didn't purchase it on here, so no official review there. I honestly really liked the litterbox at first. I didn't have issues until about 2 months after having it. This litter smells AWFUL after my cat uses it. I'm getting rid of it and going back to regular clay litter and scooping. One bag is supposed to last almost a month with one cat and it barely lasts 2 weeks for me!

What happened!?
By Jessika on Feb 11, 2021
I use to love this!! Perhaps a formula change? I typically change the tray out once per week and that was early! Litter was still good and odor free. Now I can not even make it 4 days ! Thinking about canceling my auto ship...which makes me sad. But something is different...
