The compartment for solids looks very small. How many days of waste does it hold for 2 cats?
Answer by ChewyApr 17, 2019
The crystals absorb urine on contact, and the rake removes solid waste. If you have one cat a tray will last 20 to 30 days. For two cats, a tray will last 10 to 15 days. For three or more cats, a tray will last 7 to 10 days.

How long will the litter last for urine absorbency with just one cat using the box? I’m trying to determine when to order new litter for my cat’s new box.
Answer by ChewyMay 02, 2019
A tray filled to the recommended amount will last 1 cat approximately 20 to 30 days.

Do you have to use a new bag of crystals every time you clean/dump a tray?
Answer by ChewyMar 20, 2019
The pre-potioned bags are designed to fill the entire tray. Once the litter is soiled it's recommended to replace the litter with a new bag.

With the reusable litter tray, where does the waste go and how do you empty it?
Answer by ChewyJun 08, 2019
There is a waste compartment at the front of the reusable tray as with the disposable tray. It will need to be disposed of when the litter is disposed of.

The tray does not allow waste to go into trapped area and urine smell is terrible. I will probably go back to a regular box as I am having to clean this every couple of days or it smells terrible and the disposable boxes are just too expensive

ScoopFree Review

Hello Chewy I have not yet tried the reusable littler tray. Busy time gearing up for retirement. However; I have no complaints with the disposable trays with the special litter; EXCEPT I HATE the COST of each item. I pay a LOT more for my cat’s toilet needs than for any human in the house, combined.

Scratched up and pee stained

I liked being able to put a lid over the disposable box and tossing the whole thing. The reusable one has now become scratched up and stained yellow with pee. No matter what I do it's just forever with patches of yellow.

Worth the money

The reusable scoop free tray is well worth the money. Although it was almost $80, the other option was the disposable trays for $20 or more a piece every month or so. So within 3 months it paid for itself. The tray is sturdy and easy to add to any scoop free litter box.

I love my litterbox

Very happy not to have to throw away that big, stinky, coated cardboard box anymore. We just started using it so hopefully, it will be easy to clean and will be durable. 4 stars instead of 5 only because it is way too expensive for a plastic tray.

Not happy cat mom

I purchased this thinking it would be a great option to use as an alternate to the disposable trays because they are a little pricey. I’m going back to the disposable now. With this tray the pee stinks something awful because it just lays in the bottom unlike the disposable. Same litter just different tray. The area that holds the poo is smaller too. Just not worth the hassle to me.

AWFUL product

I thought it's be cheaper having a reusable tray. What a disappointment. We have two cats and have the automatic litter box to prevent the hassle of cleaning it every day. With the disposable trays it would last two weeks each (about 60-65 runs). With this reusable tray I have to change it every 4 days. I clean it, soak it in bleach and then put new scoop free litter on top. The pee inpregnates in the plastic and the smell is AWFUL. We're spending more money now on litter than we did with the boxes. I deeply regret and do NOT reccomend. Please stick to the disposable ones!

Glad I found it

I think anyone who uses these systems should get this. The price of the crystals is really expensive. So I can now buy them in large quantities without buying the boxes.

Definitely worth it

I have to say I was so nervous buying this because of how expensive it is. I've had this about 3 weeks now and so far it's the best decision I made to make this purchase. I have one male cat and he loves it. I can not review for more than one cat. I've seen people with multiple cats not happy with this but it works wonders for my one cat.

Price increase

This litter is a wonderful product. I wanted to switch to the permanent tray because the prepackaged tray price has increasesd over 30% in two years. Most of the increase in the last few months. However, the permanent tray has also increased over 30%. This is not Chewy, it is the manufacturer. I am very disappointed. I have two cats and won't be able to afford these products anymore. I will have to go back to dusty, dirty scooping. 5his review solves nothing.
