    Great Investment

By mreow on Jan 22, 2020

I used to spend so much money on the disposable trays, $50-ish dollars for a 3-pack. I bought this tray and the crystal litter refill bags are half as expensive as the disposable trays. I have definitely saved my money back by switching. I'm not sure why all these other people seem to be having problems I used to spend so much money on the disposable trays, $50-ish dollars for a 3-pack. I bought this tray and the crystal litter refill bags are half as expensive as the disposable trays. I have definitely saved my money back by switching. I'm not sure why all these other people seem to be having problems. Mine works perfectly. No smells, lasts for a month at a time. The litter does clump to the bottom but only because my cat pees in the same spot all the time. I used to wash the old box out after changing it, so it doesn't bother me to wash this one out. I actually prefer to wash it and then spray it with an antimicrobial spray before putting it back, but I guess some people don't like the "extra work." Second best investment I made, the first being the ScoopFree system itself. … more

Good in theory, but fails in execution

I have this litter system and I do like it however I am disappointed in this reusable tray system. I will be going back to the prefilled trays. The reasons are as listed: 1. Don't waste your money

The tray does not work the same as the disposable, the compartment for the waste is to short. It smells after only 2-3 days of use and you will need to change the litter out far more frequently.Don't waste your money. I do not recommend this product.

    Doesn’t work like the disposable

    By on

Structurally it’s designed poorly, so that waste can’t reach the compartment meant for it. It means the litter is smellier and has to be changed more frequently. After two months I gave up and returned to the disposable trays, even though I’m sad to throw them away each time. It seems like the manufacturer could easily fix this design flaw.

    Stick to the disposable trays

    By on

We have had the scoopfree system for years now and loved it. We always ordered the disposable tray and they system worked great. We switched to the reusable tray to become more environmentally friendly. The tray does not work the same. It smells after only 2-3 days of use and you will need to change the litter out far more frequently. This made us switch away from the entire scoopfree system.

The magnet piece (a very important part of this unit, is not strong enough to work correctly) a huge mess is the result.

    Do not purchase

    By on

There’s no easy way to remove the used cat litter. When you find a way to get rid of it, you then need to wash the container. It’s too much work.

    Doesn’t last long enough

    By on

They do not last 10 days with 2 cats. They might last a week but at $15 a pop, it’s not really worth it. I ended up buying the $50 tray and am switching back to fresh step crystals.

    Terrible coverage

    By on

There is a gap around the box that litter comes out of and the magnets for the lid fell off in 2 weeks

Bad design and a mess to own.

    By on

I hate this tray!! It is very poorly designed. The compartment for waste is too small and fills up almost immediately with crystals as well as poop. It stinks all the time because the top on the waste department never closes completely on the small cavity, which is always full of new and used crystals as well as poop. Save your money. If you bought a scoopfree because you don't like to scoop, you will be defeating your purpose and spend plenty of time scooping and washing with this tray.

    SO disappointed

    By on

I am a dedicated user of the scoopfree disposable cat litter trays - with the scoopfree electric litter box. thought I would try the reusable litter tray - surely it would be wonderful as well and save the environment- less waste. but no, so far it's stinky every single time my kitties use it. what's the deal chewy? i followed the instruction sheet. any ideas?
