Key Benefits
  • Premium litter is completely free of perfumes and dyes, making it ideally suited for sensitive cats and owners.
  • Quickly absorbs urine and dries solid waste for odor control that’s five times better than clumping clay litters.
  • Long-lasting formula uses up to five times less litter than clay or clumping; one bag contains 4.5 pounds of litter can last up to 30 days in a single-cat household.
  • Low-tracking and 99% dust-free crystals won’t stick to kitty’s paws so your home stays clean and litter-free.
  • Perfectly proportioned for use in the PetSafe ScoopFree Reusable Cat Litter Tray, but can also be used in any standard litter pan.
Precautions

Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter, as cat feces may contain Toxoplasma gondii—a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis. Pregnant or nursing women, as well as children and anyone with a weakened immune system, should avoid handling used cat litter. Always handle litter in a ventilated area to avoid inhalation. Keep contents and packaging out of reach of children and pets. Seek medical help in case of accidental ingestion.

Instructions
  • Place the ScoopFree litter box away from areas of high humidity, such as bathrooms, showers, and basements. Since the crystal litter controls odor by absorbing moisture, having extra moisture in the air will shorten the life of the tray. Try placing it in a room with moving air to pull away moisture, like a room with a fan.
  • If your cat consistently urinates in the same spot, try stirring the crystals occasionally to help distribute saturated crystals.
  • Cats with diets that are high in crude fiber and ash content will produce more solid waste, which can prematurely fill the waste trap. Consider changing your cat’s diet to a food with no byproducts or fillers.

Additional Instructions

  • Only dispose of used cat litter in trash. Do not flush, bury or dispose of it outdoors, in gutters or storm drains to avoid environmental contamination.
  • Not for internal use. Not meant for use as compost or as a traction aid.

Transition Instructions

Most cats adapt easily to ScoopFree boxes and use it within a week. If your cat needs help adjusting, try these tips:

  • Leave your cat's old litter box next to the ScoopFree box.
  • Add a few handfuls of your cat’s old litter to the ScoopFree litter tray and add a few handfuls of the ScoopFree crystal litter in your cat's old litter box.
  • Stop cleaning the old litter box. As the old litter becomes more shallow and dirty, your cat should start using the cleaner ScoopFree box.
  • If your cat is startled by the raking noise, turn off the ScoopFree box and scoop waste manually for a few days until your cat is used to the new box.

If you have a kitten under 6 months old, we recommend leaving the box unplugged and scooping waste manually. You can start getting her used to using the litter box with these tips.

  • Kittens have a natural reflex to use the bathroom after eating, playing, or napping. Put your kitten in the litter box after these activities to help her associate the litter tray with the instinct.
  • Place the litter box away from the food and water bowl. Cats prefer not to use the bathroom near where they eat and drink.
  • Put the litter box in a quiet, visible place where she can get to it quickly. Getting all the way across the house to find the litter box could result in accidents. The location should also be safe and quiet so your kitten won't be startled or distracted.
  • Keep the box clean. Scoop waste often and change the litter tray every few weeks. Cats and kittens prefer a clean box.
  • Stir the litter crystals once a week to distribute saturated crystals. Kittens pee more often than adult cats, so the litter box will get dirty more quickly.

    Make the Switch

I have just recently decided to switch to crystal cat litter for a few reasons. I researched first however and learned that it is best to transition your cats slowly to a new litter so currently in the litter box is a 50/50 mix of crystal and traditional clumping litter. I have to say so far after about 5 days I am a big fan of the 50/50 mix and may just stick with that for the foreseeable future. The crystals keep the litter from over clumping and helps all the litter strain through the litter scoop very nicely. I have noticed a significant decrease in dust. I'm not sure why other people are having a dust problem with the crystal litter. I love this litter

    By on

Decided to try a change from clumping litter. I hope to not go back. My 3 cats adapted the first day. I like the less dust and less tracking and only scooping the “poop” out. I did notice this litter tracks more as it gets older. The only problem is that with 3 cats, I have to change about every 9 days which makes the litter more expensive. Not sure I can afford the monthly cost.

Best litter I have ever used

Fantastic litter! Super light weight, can be scooped, zero smell factor, instantly dries up everything. I now have on auto ship.

Crystal shards are sharp on hard surfaces

    By on

The crystals break into shards, and both my wife and I ended up with glass-like splinters in our feet. We bought the litter to help with dust control, because we have a cat with allergies. The crystals may work fine in the auto litter box, but we had trouble in the traditional box on uncarpeted floors.

    Best litter: my fav

Love the white sensitive paws litter. I have three litterboxes in three rooms with three different litters. This is my favorite go-to --and my person likes how long it lasts. The good stuff.

    Waste of money

    By on

This product is the worst I have used as far as crystal litter and deodorizing. It doesn’t do anything to mask the smell. Going back to my old brand.

Crystal litter easier to keep clean

    By on

The crystal litter is pretty good. It keeps odors down and is very easy to clean. It does spread around the floor a bit too much though, so I have to sweep quite a bit. I’m going to purchase it again

    not super impressed

    By on

This litter doesn’t do a great job of controlling odor, in my opinion. It also is just as dusty (if not more so) as my old clay litter. It also does stick to my cat’s paws. I found a few pieces of this litter on my window sill, where the cats always hang out. Not the miracle litter we were hoping for. I’ll keep looking.

    great litter, but...

Only wish it came in a bigger size. I have 5 cats so 2 bags barely help when it comes to refilling the multiple pans after cleaning.
