Scoop Free litter box - best investment!!!!

By KarinR on Jun 10, 2018

I needed to find an easier way to clean a litter box since my household just downsized and I'm away a good amount of the week. I bought two boxes and refills. It's a lot at once but definitely worth the initial expense. Since using it, there's hardly any mess vs. conventional litter. It's a lot at once but definitely worth the initial expense. Since using it, there's hardly any mess vs. conventional litter. It's self cleaning for sure - every 20 minutes and the raking is very quiet. The replacements are quick and easy to do and there's barely any odor. I have two boxes/four cats and I end up replacing the refills every 6-7 days. There's no need for extra litter for during the week. There's no waste and plenty of litter. As far as clean-up, my daily cleaning went from 15 minutes to 10 seconds. It's well worth the investment. I honestly wish I had done this a long time ago! Thank you for finding a way to make my daily clean-up and hassle so much easier! … more

Not as Great as it Sounds

I have two cats. Things I liked about this litter box: 1) It was quiet. 2) It counted the number of times my cats entered to do their business. Things I didn't like: 1) The crystals were supposed to absorb the urine for a month for one cat. I thought it would last at least a couple of weeks for my two I have two cats. It didn't last a week. 2) My cats still tracked the crystals all over the room (although not as much as traditional litter). 3) The tray looks to be coated cardboard (strong cardboard, but still cardboard). It is very wide, which is convenient for the cats because it is a big area to "go", but when it is ready to change, it is big and flat and the lid doesn't seal shut. I put the lid on and laid it flat in a garbage bag. When I picked it up to take it to the garbage can, the crystals spilled out some, and the box was almost too big to put in the garbage can to put out for collection. … more

First of all, the cord is a tripping hazard and is not long enough. Secondly, there should be a disclaimer on those crystals for how sharp they can be if you step on some barefoot as it tracked pretty far outside the box. Also having to double bag the very rectangle box. I bought this more expensive option thinking it would be better? No, the litter is a problem. It definitely tracks and it is obvious when you step on carpet where it has been tracked. Also, It has a different type of odor, but definitely not odorless. I gave it a try and it is not for me or my cats. … more

Hello All, I have two lovely lady cats. I like everyone else just got sick and tired of the litterbox job. So I looked in to the automatic litter box. I started with the PetSafe Simply Automatic Clean Litter Box. Something went wrong with the motor. The cat litter gets in the gears and ruins the plastic gears causing a screaming sound in the gears. The company really needs to fix this problem. I contacted Chewy and they sent me a new one with no problems ( great company by the way). Chewy refunded me my money. Well the same thing happened with the second one. Here are other problems that I found with the PetSafe Simply Automatic Clean Litter Box: 1.When the clumps are going up the lift they have to be a certain size otherwise they won’t go up the lift do to the cover. I ended up taking the cover off. 2. The dish is too small for large cats do their business in. 3.Cat litter gets kicked everywhere. But when it worked it did a good job. But I am now stuck with two machines that do not work. Sadly I had to call Chewy again and let them know that the 2nd PetSafe Simply Automatic Clean Litter Box dead again. They refunded me my order again. So I placed an order for the ScoopFree Ultra Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box. My cats and I hated it. First off the smell was just horrible. The ScoopFree Sensitive Crystal Cat Litter Tray Refills never captured the smell of the poop and pee. Plus they are expensive after a while. The machine rakes the crystal sand stuff and the poop into a very small box that is just covered by a lid like thing that the cats have to step over. My cats had a hard time stepping into the box to use because the poop trapper is very wide. Plus sometimes they would step in the poop that wasn’t pushed into the collection box. Also the poop gets stuck in the rake thing. I ended up having to clean that out so that my cats would not track the poop through the house. Plus the litter got tracked throughout my house even with I put down two different types of little rug/matts. This is not cool and not fun to step on. But the smell is the worst. So I sent it back and got a refund from Chewy, again great company. Currently I am using the CatGenie Self-Flushing Cat Box. Yes it is expensive. So far it is worth every dime. The only down side the washable litter is biodegradable Washable Granules are plastic. But I have not had to scoop or clean anything. The setup was easy. I just set the time timer and it washes, cleans, and gets rid of the waste through the washing machine pipe. So far I am in love and very happy with this. I hope this helps you when you are buying an automatic litter box … more

  • Not for multiple cats

Do not buy if you own more than one cat. The urine never absorbs and the tray must be changed every week. The litter trays are expensive so changing every week is not economical. Be prepared to spend $50 every 3 weeks.

Cats stop using after about 2-3 days to urinate and go on the floor no matter what we do. We’ve tried for 3 months using all the suggestions. Going back to littermaid auto cleaner. Waste of money

  • Not satisfied at all

This scoop free litter box is a waste of money. We began to use it one month ago for our seven month old kitty. During just nine days the smell was far worse than using a regular kitty litter. We put a new one, but the result was the same. We are greatly disappointed in this expensive product.

  • Not worth it

I have had this litter box for about a year now and I’m beginning to look for a new system. I have two adult cats. This thing basically just compartmentalizes poop into a cardboard section. Nothing fancy at all. It still smells. The crystals are not that amazing. I do not recommend this because it’s way to expensive for a poop organizer and trapper.

  • Not the best

I have had this for 3 months and I keep wanting to make it work out for us but I would have rather stayed with a normal litter box. My cat was terrified of the hood on it and he couldn't move within it because the box is so small (he is 11lbs). I had to take the hood off so he would use it. It smells constantly. It smells like straight cat urine after only using a brand new box for less than a week. The crystals do not help that smell at all and my cat does not like the crystals (I believe they hurt his paws). I have to scoop out the container maybe twice a week because it gets backed up. I am disappointed in this product.

My cats hate it. I am moving and throwing everything out luckily bc my cats refuse to use it and have pooped and peed every where. Very disappointed.
