    This SAVED my life!

By Comdoc on Oct 7, 2018

I have two cats, and got tired of carrying heavy garbage bags of clumped urine and feces all the time...plus...the smell. And carrying 40-lb. bags of litter was not easy for this older gal. And carrying 40-lb. bags of litter was not easy for this older gal. This product is incredible...no more scooping, no more smells! You put the lid underneath the tray (for when you dispose), pour the “litter” and you’re done. The sole issue I had was with my 1 1/2 year old Maine Coon who was scared of crawling in (although he’s always used a hooded box). Plus, having the tray in the front is awkward for stepping in (dear Scoop Free...put the poo catcher box in the back, and the “rake” up front). He started to urinate in his water bowl, so I took the hood off, and sat him in the “potty” 3 times a day, and voila...a few treats and praise, and no more urinating outside the box. Now he runs to watch the rake when he hears the motor. Two cats make it necessary for me to change it about every 11 days - if you have one cat, you’ll be able to go much longer, but the extra cost is worth it to my back and sanity! … more

    Cats didn't like it

I really hoped that this would be a winner with our fussy felines. The product has some very nice features, including that the timer can be set from 5 to 20 minutes, the rake is quite dependable and rarely gets stuck, and the hood keeps the litter from flying out. But unfortunately, this was not a winner with our cats. Here's some issues we experienced while using this product: The litter doesn't work-all the rake really does is run right through it, stringing it all throughout the box and turning the tray into a stinky, sloshy mess, the box REALLY stinks, even after it's been cleaned, and the replacement trays are VERY expensive, and they don't last very long. Because of all the issues mentioned above, our cats refused to use it. Overall, if you only have one cat, change the litter quite frequently, and your cat doesn't mind stinky smells, give it a try. Otherwise, forget it. It's a waste of money. … more

  • The worst litter box ever

The crystals do not last as long as they estimated. I had to change every 2 -3 days. What a awful mess. It didn’t absorb the urine hardly at all-even with trying all of the suggestions , stirring up the crystals to get them to dry. Don’t waste your money.

  • My Cats Did Not Like This At All

    By on

My cats refused to use it, if there was a way to set the timer to where it would scoop litter right after cats used it that might work better. As it is, my cats were freaked out because it would scoop while they were using it. Once that happened they refused to use it. The only way I could get them to use it was to turn it off and only run it when they weren't in the room. Also, the paper bottom is gross. The smell of ammonia almost knocked me over when I emptied it after only a few days. I really wanted it to work but it was not meant to be for me and my kitties. Oh well...

  • Rakes get dirty with poop then you have to wash the entire thing

    By on

Honestly expensive to replace the litter trays and this box doesn't do is job. Yes the poop is raked into a little compartment but then the poop get stuck on the rake and it stinks up the place. you'd have to let the poop dry until it rakes other wise it will get stuck but if you let the poop sit then it will stink either way. Waste of money just get a regular litter box and change frequently as you should.

First of all, the cord is a tripping hazard and is not long enough. Secondly, there should be a disclaimer on those crystals for how sharp they can be if you step on some barefoot as it tracked pretty far outside the box. Also having to double bag the very rectangle box. I bought this more expensive option thinking it would be better? No, the litter is a problem. It definitely tracks and it is obvious when you step on carpet where it has been tracked. Also, It has a different type of odor, but definitely not odorless. I gave it a try and it is not for me or my cats. … more

  • Wish I would not have spent the money!!

It smells! The pan of litter does not even last a week and I only have one cat. I had to start cleaning the catch pan out half way through the week. I was so excited but I am not happy with it at all. I would never recommend it!!

  • Not for multiple cats

    By on

Do not buy if you own more than one cat. The urine never absorbs and the tray must be changed every week. The litter trays are expensive so changing every week is not economical. Be prepared to spend $50 every 3 weeks.

  • Triple the cost and does not work

Cats stop using after about 2-3 days to urinate and go on the floor no matter what we do. We’ve tried for 3 months using all the suggestions. Going back to littermaid auto cleaner. Waste of money

Hello All, I have two lovely lady cats. I like everyone else just got sick and tired of the litterbox job. So I looked in to the automatic litter box. I started with the PetSafe Simply Automatic Clean Litter Box. Something went wrong with the motor. The cat litter gets in the gears and ruins the plastic gears causing a screaming sound in the gears. The company really needs to fix this problem. I contacted Chewy and they sent me a new one with no problems ( great company by the way). Chewy refunded me my money. Well the same thing happened with the second one. Here are other problems that I found with the PetSafe Simply Automatic Clean Litter Box: 1.When the clumps are going up the lift they have to be a certain size otherwise they won’t go up the lift do to the cover. I ended up taking the cover off. 2. The dish is too small for large cats do their business in. 3.Cat litter gets kicked everywhere. But when it worked it did a good job. But I am now stuck with two machines that do not work. Sadly I had to call Chewy again and let them know that the 2nd PetSafe Simply Automatic Clean Litter Box dead again. They refunded me my order again. So I placed an order for the ScoopFree Ultra Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box. My cats and I hated it. First off the smell was just horrible. The ScoopFree Sensitive Crystal Cat Litter Tray Refills never captured the smell of the poop and pee. Plus they are expensive after a while. The machine rakes the crystal sand stuff and the poop into a very small box that is just covered by a lid like thing that the cats have to step over. My cats had a hard time stepping into the box to use because the poop trapper is very wide. Plus sometimes they would step in the poop that wasn’t pushed into the collection box. Also the poop gets stuck in the rake thing. I ended up having to clean that out so that my cats would not track the poop through the house. Plus the litter got tracked throughout my house even with I put down two different types of little rug/matts. This is not cool and not fun to step on. But the smell is the worst. So I sent it back and got a refund from Chewy, again great company. Currently I am using the CatGenie Self-Flushing Cat Box. Yes it is expensive. So far it is worth every dime. The only down side the washable litter is biodegradable Washable Granules are plastic. But I have not had to scoop or clean anything. The setup was easy. I just set the time timer and it washes, cleans, and gets rid of the waste through the washing machine pipe. So far I am in love and very happy with this. I hope this helps you when you are buying an automatic litter box … more

  • Not satisfied at all

This scoop free litter box is a waste of money. We began to use it one month ago for our seven month old kitty. During just nine days the smell was far worse than using a regular kitty litter. We put a new one, but the result was the same. We are greatly disappointed in this expensive product.
