Scoop Free litter box - best investment!!!!

By KarinR on Jun 10, 2018

I needed to find an easier way to clean a litter box since my household just downsized and I'm away a good amount of the week. I bought two boxes and refills. It's a lot at once but definitely worth the initial expense. Since using it, there's hardly any mess vs. conventional litter. It's a lot at once but definitely worth the initial expense. Since using it, there's hardly any mess vs. conventional litter. It's self cleaning for sure - every 20 minutes and the raking is very quiet. The replacements are quick and easy to do and there's barely any odor. I have two boxes/four cats and I end up replacing the refills every 6-7 days. There's no need for extra litter for during the week. There's no waste and plenty of litter. As far as clean-up, my daily cleaning went from 15 minutes to 10 seconds. It's well worth the investment. I honestly wish I had done this a long time ago! Thank you for finding a way to make my daily clean-up and hassle so much easier! … more

Not as Great as it Sounds

By Sheri on May 20, 2018

I have two cats. Things I liked about this litter box: 1) It was quiet. 2) It counted the number of times my cats entered to do their business. Things I didn't like: 1) The crystals were supposed to absorb the urine for a month for one cat. I thought it would last at least a couple of weeks for my two I have two cats. It didn't last a week. 2) My cats still tracked the crystals all over the room (although not as much as traditional litter). 3) The tray looks to be coated cardboard (strong cardboard, but still cardboard). It is very wide, which is convenient for the cats because it is a big area to "go", but when it is ready to change, it is big and flat and the lid doesn't seal shut. I put the lid on and laid it flat in a garbage bag. When I picked it up to take it to the garbage can, the crystals spilled out some, and the box was almost too big to put in the garbage can to put out for collection. … more

  • Convenient

I hate scooping and scraping the clay litter. This is great. We have had our box for over a month. The trays do NOT last a month. We have one cat who is a regular size. This fits him great. The litter trays last 2 to 3 weeks and he uses it 7 to 10 times a day. When the weather is warmer, it smells more. I can keep this in the back room and change out the trays about every 2 weeks no problem. I considered scooping a little and adding more silica but with the urine i just dont think its an option. I still love this because it is much easier to clean than the regular box with litter and you can buy a 3 tray pack to save a little Money $

  • So far so good!

I have 3 cats, they were quick to change litter boxes which im glad about the only down thing i would say is that the poop tends to stick to the rake which makes the smell linger on. I ordered the lavander crystals so hopefully that helps!

  • Good fit. Absorbs odor

    By on

This is the first automated litter box I have owned and so far everything has been great. It fits my large cats well, but they are still too afraid of it to use with the dome on. Poops are initially stinky, but those crystals absorb odor soo well. The only downside is the price of litter refills.

  • Worth Every Penny

The Good Points: #1 YOU NEVER HAVE TO CLEAN ANOTHER LITTER BOX AGAIN! #2 It takes a whoppin five minutes to change trays. And most of that five minutes is spent taking old tray out to trash. #3 No litter box smell! (well, you do get an (urine) ammonia smell around the two week mark) #4 Seriously, just buy this. You'll thank me later. The Bad Points: #1 Really should be a tad bit bigger. The should extend it another 5" to give your cat a little more room. #2 My cat wasn't going anywhere near it with the dome on it. In fact, she used my bathroom mat instead of her litter box with the dome on. Take the dome off, and buy a broom to sweep up the crystals.

  • Scoop free litter box doesn't control odour very well.

    By on

I'm glad I don't have to clean a litter box any more but the self cleaning box doesn't control the odour very well. I have two cat's and I have to change the box every week to keep the smell under control. Even though the boxes with the blue crystals are pricey, I think it's worth paying for because that is one less thing I have to do every day.

The hood arrived with a small piece broken along the edge but other than that everything is OK.

This machine helps manage the nasty job of litter control. So far so good after three weeks. Anxious to see how the mechanics hold up over time.

  • Good but not great

Great except for the fact that poop gets stuck behind the rake and stays stuck behind it! Very inconvenient

  • What I expected

    By on

Having two cats, I was having a hard time keeping up with the scooping. This machine does exactly what I wanted. The only thing negative I have to say is ... and it is a small negative. The tray is not as long lasting as the company claims. With two cats, I have to change the tray once a week. But I am ok with that. It keeps the odor down and my cats adapted to the new box very quickly.

  • Overall, worth it

Pros- No more scooping (unless you choose to in order to save money and prolong crystal life) and that's huge when you live with two cats. No more heavy boxes of litter, litter dust, and it's very quiet. Your cats will probably be curious while it's racking for the first few weeks, but they get over it. Also we have more offers for cat sitters during long trips because they don't have to worry about the litter box. It's easy to set up and change the trays. I'm happy with this purchase. Cons- A few, but not deal breakers (in my opinion). It is not cost effective when compared to litter. We go through a tray every two weeks, which is on pace according to the recommended change times. The impact on the environment is not that great since your throwing away the cardboard trays. I would love if the company made a forever tray...hint hint. Litter rocks still get stuck in their paws, but we purchased the companies litter mat and this has cut down on sweeping. The rocks do not eliminate fecal odor and we usually have to hit the rack button after an "event" instead of suffering through the five minute wait time. But urine odor is nonexistent. … more
