    This SAVED my life!

By Comdoc on Oct 7, 2018

I have two cats, and got tired of carrying heavy garbage bags of clumped urine and feces all the time...plus...the smell. And carrying 40-lb. bags of litter was not easy for this older gal. You put the lid underneath the tray (for when you dispose), pour the “litter” and you’re done. The sole issue I had was with my 1 1/2 year old Maine Coon who was scared of crawling in (although he’s always used a hooded box). Plus, having the tray in the front is awkward for stepping in (dear Scoop Free...put the poo catcher box in the back, and the “rake” up front). He started to urinate in his water bowl, so I took the hood off, and sat him in the “potty” 3 times a day, and voila...a few treats and praise, and no more urinating outside the box. Now he runs to watch the rake when he hears the motor. Two cats make it necessary for me to change it about every 11 days - if you have one cat, you’ll be able to go much longer, but the extra cost is worth it to my back and sanity! … more

    Cats didn't like it

I really hoped that this would be a winner with our fussy felines. The product has some very nice features, including that the timer can be set from 5 to 20 minutes, the rake is quite dependable and rarely gets stuck, and the hood keeps the litter from flying out. But unfortunately, this was not a winner with our cats. Here's some issues we experienced while using this product: The litter doesn't work-all the rake really does is run right through it, stringing it all throughout the box and turning the tray into a stinky, sloshy mess, the box REALLY stinks, even after it's been cleaned, and the replacement trays are VERY expensive, and they don't last very long. Because of all the issues mentioned above, our cats refused to use it. Overall, if you only have one cat, change the litter quite frequently, and your cat doesn't mind stinky smells, give it a try. Otherwise, forget it. It's a waste of money. … more

  • So easy and no smell

So I'm new at being a cat parent. I adopted 2 kittens back in March. I purchased a regular litter box with clumping litter. It is a lot of work. That chore was split between my 2 kids. I cleaned it every so often also, but mainly the kids chore every other day. And boy was it a lot of work. One huge little box for 2 cats equal a lot of clumps and poop. Well we decided to invest in the self cleaning litter and to be honest I was a bit worried it would smell more then the clumping litter. But I was wrong. There is no smell, until it needs to be changed. There is no scooping out the box as the box does it itself. The machine scoops the waste to a covered area to contain the smell and the urine stays in the crystals with no smell. I love it. It is more expensive then the clumping litter but it's just so easy to use and it t looks so much nicer to look at. The only thing that isnt as advertised is that with 2 cats 15 it needs to be changed. It was 13 days days and I kinda new it was time to change the crystals but didnt and when I woke up in the morning my 1 cats pooped in my plant bed in the living room and 1 pooped on a towel in my bathroom. I changed the crystals and everything is back to normal. So 15 days is to long. 12 to 13 would be max for my 2 kittens. Overall we are all happy and I dont ever want to go back to the clumping litter. … more

  • Good investment

    By on

Honestly best investment I've made in a while. I'm an extravagantly lazy person (probably why I have a cat over a dog) and I hated cleaning the litter box every day. I found it hard to believe that this litter box would actually clean itself for a month,I figured it would break or be noisy or malfunction, but its freaking awesome. I dont even notice it when its cleaning.

  • Cats & Humans love it!

The cats transitioned very well from clay to the crystals. They even sat and waited for their business to be raked, it peaked their curiosity. We loved it because it controlled the smell and kept it clean for our cats. Thumbs UP!

  • ScoopFree Ultra Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box

We really like it! Two cats using it for a couple of weeks now and we are very pleased so far. One thing about it though, the crystals in litter box do stick to cats paws, but less than regular. We keep a whisk broom handy.

  • One month since purchase

I bought this about a month ago and waited to review for awhile. Transitioning from traditional litter was about a week long process. I followed the recommendation to place the new box beside the old box since Rajani did not approve initially. After a couple days she would use the new one to urinate in and the old one for bowel movements. I took the old box away a week later and she moved to using the new one just fine. I didn't put the hood on the box until a day or two before I took the old box away. She's 10.5lb cat so I was a little concerned about how well she'd fit in the box. Initially she did pee on the side of the box but she has since stopped after I put the hood on the box. She fits I bought this about a month ago and waited to review for awhile. She's now obsessed with the rake and will fly across the room to watch it when it kicks on, I joke with my significant other that it's an added bonus to watch her go obsess over the rake. I'm happy with this purchase. I will be switching from the disposable trays to the hard plastic tray soon so I'm hoping the plastic tray works as well as the disposable one does. … more

  • Scoop Free litter box - best investment!!!!

I needed to find an easier way to clean a litter box since my household just downsized and I'm away a good amount of the week. I bought two boxes and refills. It's a lot at once but definitely worth the initial expense. Since using it, there's hardly any mess vs. conventional litter. It's self cleaning for sure - every 20 minutes and the raking is very quiet. The replacements are quick and easy to do and there's barely any odor. I have two boxes/four cats and I end up replacing the refills every 6-7 days. There's no need for extra litter for during the week. There's no waste and plenty of litter. As far as clean-up, my daily cleaning went from 15 minutes to 10 seconds. • Auto litter box

Works better than I thought it would. Have two cats using it. A lot lease litter outside of the box than a the standard litter box I was using. If you have wood floors be carful if dragging the crystles on the floor because they will scratch it. There is also way lease smell.

  • 4 paws and 2 thumbs up!

    By on

It took a few days for kitty to start using the new box so I left a regular litter box available. I love that I'm no longer a slave to the litter box! Happy cat, happy cat mom and hopefully now a happier landlord! I'm using it without the cover since my guy is 17 lbs. He likes to watch the rake up close! It's only been maybe 4-5 days of usage so far and no smell, but I did add a refill tray to the order so I'm ready when it needs it!

  • Answer to my prayers

    By on

Honey yes. This right here is a sanity saver. We have 2 cats, and we'd tried so many different brands/types of cat litter to find something that would contain the smell and never could. We absolutely hate cleaning the litter box, but now we barely have to do anything to it. The crystals soak up the urine and the rake takes care of the poop.We ended up buying the reusable tray, so we will have to deal with cleaning a little more, but I'm a-okay with that now.
