Tired of scooping your cat's smelly litter? With the Ultra Automatic box from ScoopFree, you can go hands-free and finally stop breaking a sweat. This innovative, top-entry litter box does all the work for you, keeping itself clean without all that stinky hassle. When your cat crawls in to do his business, litter crystals absorb liquid waste and dehydrate solid waste to destroy odors. Then, an automatic rake sweeps through to push the mess out of sight, out of mind, and out of your nose! It keeps itself clean, without needing you to scoop, clean or refill it for weeks. When it comes time to reload, simply place the lid on the disposable tray and throw it away. The crystal litter is 99% track-free, but, if that's not enough, the top-entry hood is built with a large, grated surface for even more protection against tracking. Plus, an included health counter makes sure you know how often your kitty uses the box—so you can keep a watchful eye on his behavior! ScoopFree makes your life easier, your home cleaner and your cat happier. What could be better?
Key Benefits- Self-cleaning box keeps itself tidy for weeks—with no scooping, cleaning or refilling—so you can focus on your favorite parts of being a cat parent.
- Crystal cat litter first absorbs liquids and dehydrates solid waste, then the automatic rake shoves it all into a covered trap—which means you never have to touch or see the smelly stuff.
- Litter crystals rarely stick to cats' paws, but this top-entry hood has a grated surface that adds extra protection from tracking.
- Built-in health counter tells you how many times your cat has used the box, so you can easily track your cat's habits and share results with your veterinarian.
- Cleaning up is simpler than ever—just stick the lid on the disposable tray and toss it in the trash!

Precautions
Pregnant women, babies, small children and immune-deficient individuals should avoid contact with cat litter waste. Cat’s waste may contain toxoplasmosis bacteria that can be harmful to these individuals. If your kitten is under 6 months of age, leave the unit UNPLUGGED and scoop waste until kitten is 6 months old.

Maximizing Litter Tray Life
Number of Cats | Each Tray Lasts (Days) | Trays per Month |
---|---|---|
1 | 20 - 30 | 1+ |
2 | 10 - 15 | 2+ |
3+ | 7 - 10 | 3+ |
Here are some tips to help get the most life from the Disposable Crystal Litter Tray.
- ScoopFree Disposable Litter Trays work best if placed AWAY from areas of high humidity such as bathrooms, showers, and basements. Moisture in the air can shorten the life of the crystal litter and disposable tray. Place in a room with moving air to pull away moisture, such as a room with a fan.
- Cats with diets high in crude fiber and ash content will produce more solid waste. This may prematurely fill the waste trap. Consider changing the cat’s diet to a food with no byproducts or fillers.
- Increased elimination habits of older cats and cats with diabetes, kidney and thyroid problems may result in a shorter tray life.
- Stirring litter crystals once a week may help the tray life for cats that are ill or have a high urine output. Stirring will also distribute saturated crystals, which will also help with cats consistently urinate in the same spot or do not dig. Be sure to mix in the crystal litter from behind the rake and along the sides of the litter box. DO NOT mix in litter from under the waste trap.
- Kittens are not as developed so their solid waste can be runny. Kittens will go through litter trays faster than adult cats. It is recommended to use ScoopFree with cats that are older than 6 months.
CAUTION: If your kitten is under 6 months of age, leave the unit UNPLUGGED and scoop waste until kitten is 6 months old.
Care & Cleaning
The ScoopFree Self-Cleaning Litter Box seldom needs cleaned because of its revolutionary design. Surfaces that would normally become soiled are discarded with each Disposable Crystal Litter Tray. However, you may occasionally choose to clean the litter box.
WARNING Do not submerge or expose the electrical components to water or cleaning solutions. Always unplug the unit when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
To Clean:
- Unplug power adapter from wall outlet and disconnect from the litter box.
- Lift and remove the litter box frame from the crystal litter tray.
- Remove waste trap cover by tilting it outwards until the side posts fall out of the slots on the front of the litter box frame.
- Wipe all surfaces on the litter box frame with a cloth or sponge using mild soap and water. Wipe rake with sponge or soft brush. DO NOT use bleach or chemicals to clean as they can act as a repellent to your cat.
- Clean the Detection Sensors on the interior sides of the litter box frame to make sure they are not blocked.
- Thoroughly dry all parts before reassembling the litter box.
To Reassemble:
- Install the waste trap cover by sliding the posts on the side of the cover into the slots on the front of the litter box frame.
- Install the litter tray (see “Litter Tray Installation” page 8).
Troubleshooting
Indicator light is flashing rapidly, and rake is at home position.
- Check if waste trap is full. If so, replace litter tray.
- Check for obstructions and remove if necessary.
- Make sure magnets on waste cover are properly attached to litter tray. If not, lift waste cover and lower it back down; you should hear a “click” when correctly attached to the tray.
- Make sure waste trap cover is properly installed.
- Ensure litter box is level and seated properly on litter tray.
- Ensure litter is evenly distributed. Never add extra litter.
- Unplug the litter box and wait a few seconds. Plug the litter box in again. When the rake returns to the home position, the indicator light will glow solid green.
Indicator light is flashing rapidly (8 times per second), and rake is stopped several inches away from the home position.
- Check for any obstructions behind the rake. If so, unplug the litter box and remove obstruction. Wait a few seconds.
- Plug the litter box in again. The rake should return to the home position and the indicator light will turn on solid green.
Indicator light is flashing medium (4 times per second), and system will not rake after the countdown time elapses.
- Check to see if the detection sensors are obstructed.
- Unplug box and clear any litter or waste that may have collected on the sensors. After cleaning, plug it back in.
- When the rake returns to the home position, the indicator light should turn on solid green.
Magnets on waste trap cover do not attach to litter tray.
- Waste trap cover may not be properly installed. See “Care and Cleaning” page 13 to remove and reinstall waste trap Cover.
- Then press down on waste trap cover or lift waste trap on litter tray until you hear a click, indicating magnets have attached to the tray.
Litter box frame is not level on litter tray.
- The litter box should rest on the litter tray when installed, not on the floor. Make sure the litter box is completely level on the litter tray (see “Litter Tray Installation ” page 8).
Can ScoopFree Self-Cleaning Litter Box be used with multiple cats?
ScoopFree was designed for use with one or two cats. If you have more than two cats, it is recommended to have at least one litter box for every two cats.
How will I know when to change the litter tray?
You should change the litter tray when either of the following occurs: * The crystal litter is saturated. As the crystals absorb urine, the litter will start to turn yellow. Once the majority of the litter turns yellow, the crystals are nearing their saturation point. When the crystals can no longer absorb any more moisture, you may start to notice an odor from the urine. * The waste trap is full. When the waste trap is full, the waste trap cover will not close completely. You may see small pieces of solid waste sticking out from underneath the lid. You may also start to notice an odor from the solid waste.

Convenient, but not foolproof
By Lauren on May 10, 2022
Not having to scoop out our cats' litterbox every day is a game changer for sure, and our cats took to this very quickly. Unfortunately all too often, cat poop gets caught on the rake and never makes it to the waste reservoir, which feels a bit counterproductive.

Great product!
By Happycatnana on Apr 30, 2022
We have a 1 1/2 year old 16 pond cat and we love this litter box. It took him about a week to get used to it, but now he loves it! It came with a disposable ready to use litter tray but we plan on getting the reusable one. I definitely recommend this product.

nice litter box!
By MH1cat on Apr 10, 2022
This is a nice litter box. I would recommend just because it is easy to set up and seems like it is a quality item. We didn’t actually get to use it because our cat passed away recently after. I can’t figure out how to return or if that’s even an option. I would recommend to others though. Thank you.

Life Changing- Adding Another!
By OGKitten on Feb 14, 2022
I’ve had one of these for over a year and I love it! One worked fine for one cat but now I’m adding a 3mo kitten kitten to our fam so I’m buying another. I’ve been changing the litter every two weeks for one cat since I bought the first one, and I think two weeks is the most I’d want to go before switching out the tray. Urine stays in the crystals so I wouldn’t want the kitties stepping in it past that 2 week mark. I don’t smell anything 95% of the time except right after they go. Trays are a little pricey but not that much more than premium litter and well worth it for the convenience and relief of not scooping every day! Highly recommend!

don't buy this
By sadcats on Apr 15, 2022
It's a horrible mess, I wish I splurged and bought the more expensive option. It worked for a couple days and then started smushing all the cat poop. I won't post pics because it's gross :/

Really really happy with the customer service!
By Jordan on Mar 3, 2022
I ordered this litter box and within one month there was an issue with the rake. I wasn’t sure how to fix it, so I sent in a message to customer service and they immediately sent me a new one! It was a nice surprise on my doorstep! The product itself is nice and convenient. My cats had no issue using it!

not as Convenient as expected
By EBWhite on Nov 18, 2021
Wish I loved it, but I don’t really. I do like the top load option. But the crystals are not lasting as long as expected. I think they aren’t getting stirred as much as they should be. I used the crystals in a regular box for a couple years before this with no issues. They would honestly last even longer than the recommended month long. Now when using This box it’s a week before the smell is apparent and if it lasts two weeks the smell is unbearable. I also purchased the reusable tray and it’s cumbersome and awkward to change. The cardboard disposable refills would be the way to go here if you are looking into this system. But throwing away so much felt bad, environmentally.
