Sentry Natural Defense Flea & Tick Squeeze-On for Dogs

The flea situation here is difficult. As a rescue we have 11 dogs and numerous cats. I found this product to be extremely oily and instead of it staying on their skin, it ended up all over their fur. I believe it did work better on the cats than the dogs. Because of my situation, I would not purchase this again, at least not for the dogs.

I really enjoy the smell of this product & that it’s all natural, however, both times I’ve put it on my dog, I’ve had to wipe some off & make him run around outside for awhile because it bothers his nose. He would bury his nose over and over into any blanket, towel, piece of clothing, rug, anything he could find. He’d make his poor little nose raw from doing it so much! It think it works well & am going to try putting some on a bandana & putting that on him when he goes outside, rather than on him.

I know how bad other flea and tick treatments can be for dogs so I went with something more natural but this stuff is horrible. The smell is so strong, it bothered both of my dogs and I can still smell it around the entire house. Also can't get the scent off of my hands. My puppy freaked out as soon as I put it on him, rolling around trying to get it off. Definitely do not recommend this.

I was shocked to find fleas on both my dogs last week, just 2 weeks after I'd reapplied Sentry Natural Defense Flea & Tick treatment. I've been using this product for several years with no insect problem, so last week's discovery was a major unpleasant surprise. I haven't been outside the city with them either. What gives? In desperation, I applied one of the well-known chemical flea/tick treatments to ensure that my dogs will be free from creepy crawlies. I prefer to avoid chemically-laden pesticides, but I don't want my dogs attcked by fleas either. btw, the scent of Sentry Natural is strong, but I liked it - cloves, allspice, nutmeg. Too bad it didn't work, though.

My pets still have fleas and the smell can be overwhelming...going old School to baking soda and salt

My dog had a reaction to Sentry, he did not seem well and has been up all night throwing up and having diarrhea. The product itself is natural oils but the smell is very strong. I know there are reactions to different products but just be wary of this.

Help! I’m gagging and choking from the horrible strong smell from this flea and tick stuff you put on from a tube on their back. Ugh. Can’t sleep or eat around my 3 pugs. It burns my throat just smelling it. Needed to try something as they reacted with shaking and extreme lethargy from Frontline and First Shield. Don’t know if this stuff kills flea and ticks but it sure is killing me right now!! Will not use this again!! Need something else! What else can I use??

smells great and seems to work well. I will continue to buy and see how it works at the beginning of tick season when my dog really picks up a lot. but I would recommend it over the expensive harmful brands any day.

The smell is horribly strong! Our entire place stinks and the smell won't wash off my hands. We have to wash everything - the dogs collar, the dog, blankets, anything he touched.
